ウィリアム皇太子とキャサリン妃が
米国、ボストンを公式訪問
3日間にわたるツアーをスタート

このメインの目的は、
金曜日に開催される
“アースショット賞”授与式

昨年、ウィリアム皇太子(英国王立財団)が設立された
地球修復のためのプロジェクトで
2021年から2030年まで
毎年、環境保護の活動に貢献している
5名(組織等)を選び、
活動支援として、それぞれに
100万ポンドが贈られる。

第2回目となる今年の開催地が、ボストン
ということで、環境問題を軸に
キャサリン妃の肝入り案件
乳幼児期の発達に関する視察なども行われる模様。

ご夫妻にとって、米国訪問は
2014年以来、なんと8年ぶり。。

あの時は、シャーロット王女を妊娠中だった、、、

そして今や、
皇太子ご夫妻として初の米国訪問に。
コロナ禍以来、初の海外公務でも。

久々の海外ツアー
英国からボストンまでは、
プライベートジェットではなく、
ブリッティシュ・エアウェイズの民間機

ファーストクラスはもちろんとしても、
どうやら一般の人々と一緒に。

乗り合わせたラッキーな人が、撮影
しかも、お二人が一般の人に話しかけていらっしゃるシーン

これも意図的、、ではあろうが、などと穿った見方（笑）

なにせ今回は、環境問題に関するお仕事。
環境にやさしい手段がマスト。

Logan International Airportに到着後
マサチューセッツ州知事がお出迎え

実は、ここに
キャロライン・ケネディ氏もいらっしゃる予定だったらしいが
不可になった模様。

まずここで、到着ファッション！！
というか、フライト・ファッション。
そしてビックリ！！

だって、機内でパンツスーツ、、、、！！！
ジャケットにスリムパンツって、、、最も無いスタイルよねw

ジャケットは脱がれる(かも？)とはいえ
パンツも細身だし
何より、シワも気になる、、、

リラックスどころか、気を抜きませんよ、的な
完全なる、“お仕事モード”ファッションですな。

しかも、またパンツスーツ！？ってくらい、最近多いね。
相当お気に召したらしい。

一見、今年9月に初登場した、
ネイビーの《アレキサンダー・マックイーン》
を着回し？とも見えるも、
色違いの、アメジストを大人買いされたよう。
パープル味のある、アメジスト色と
ネイビーとのコーデが超ノーブル❤️

イヤリングも、ダイアナ元妃の
サファイア＆ダイアモンドをチョイスで、ピッタリ

これも、今年6月のプラチナジュビリーイベントの際
初めてお披露目されたものでしたね。

空港から、ホテルへ
お着替えをされて、
ボストン・シティホールへ

マサチューセッツ州司法長官、ボストンのウー市長の同席のもと
“アースショット賞”授与式に向けたカウントダウン、スタート！

そのボタンもグリーンなら、シティホールもグリーンにライトアップ。

なんと、37歳というウー市長は、
いわゆる同年代のご夫妻へ、ご家族も紹介

シティホールに飾られていた
エリザベス女王とエディンバラ公が、
1976年の200年記念祭の時
公式訪問されたお写真も案内。

というわけで、この時のキャサリン妃ファッションも、やはりグリーン！

全身グリーン系のワントーンコーデは、
もはや重要公務での当たり前に。

As the Prince and Princess Wales watched on from the wings, Reverend Hammond, said: 'On this day, I invite us all to consider the legacy of colonialism and racism'

William and Kate's visit will culminate in the star-studded Earthshot Awards on Friday night. 

Superstar singer Billie Eilish will lead a stellar line-up for the awards ceremony, founded by William to recognise and scale-up environmental solutions to repair the planet.

Other acts to feature ＠ the MGM Music Hall include Annie Lennox and Ellie Goulding.

Broadcaster Sir David Attenborough, a supporter of the Earthshot Prize since its inception, will voice the opening of the show while Oscar-winning actress and Earthshot judging panel member Cate Blanchett will narrate a look back at the 2021 winners.

The Earthshot Prize is now in its second year, and among the 15 finalists vying for £1 million awarded to each of the five category winners are a cleaner-burning stove initiative in Kenya and a bubble barrier made in the Netherlands to prevent plastics entering oceans.

There are also finalists from the UK for the first time, with two British-based entries being selected.

Notpla Hard Material – a start-up run by Pierre Paslier and Rodrigo Garcia Gonzalez in London – makes packaging from seaweed and plants as an alternative to single-use plastic, and has already produced more than one million biodegradable takeaway food boxes for the firm Just Eat.

The other UK finalist – Low Carbon Materials, based in County Durham – uses unrecyclable plastic waste to make traditional concrete blocks carbon-zero.

Wednesday, 30 November

Upon arrival in Boston in the late afternoon, the Prince and Princess will kick off the countdown to Friday's Earthshot Awards with a special event attended by Mayor Michelle Wu and Ambassador Caroline Kennedy. Assembling at Speaker's Corner outside City Hall, they will celebrate bringing Earthshot to Boston by lighting up Boston City Hall and other landmarks in green. Prince William, Mayor Wu and Caroline Kennedy will speak at the event.

Afterwards, a second, embargoed engagement will take place. There are unconfirmed reports of a possible basketball game appearance or similar sporting event harking back to their 2014 New York trip. This could potentially take place on either Wednesday or Thursday night.

Another 'maybe' on the list which could potentially take place privately: a dinner for the American Friends of the Royal Foundation similar to one the couple attended during the New York trip


Thursday, 1 December

William and Kate will begin the day by learning about climate innovations which are being incubated in Boston when they pay a visit to Greentown Labs in Somerville. Greentown is recognized as the largest climate technology start-up incubator in North America, having supported more than 500 companies since its founding that have collectively created more than 9,000 jobs and raised more than $4 billion in funding.

From there, the Prince and Princess will travel to the neighbouring city of Chelsea to visit Roca, a non-profit organization focusing on high-risk young people aged 16-24 years old at the centre of urban violence.

The final engagement of the day is embargoed. Again, potentially an evening for a private Royal Foundation dinner could be on the cards...

Friday, 2 December

The visit culminates with the Earthshot Awards on Friday. Before the ceremony that evening, it will be separate engagements for the Waleses. Kate will focus on her early years research with a visit to the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University. Kensington Palace said: "The Harvard Center has long been a friend of the Royal Foundation and more recently the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, supporting with past research on the importance of the early years."

Whilst Kate's at Harvard, William will enjoy a tour of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library with Caroline Kennedy. The Palace noted: "President John F. Kennedy’s Moonshot – which challenged America to put man on the moon – is the key inspiration behind the Earthshot Prize and so His Royal Highness will take the opportunity to hear more about President Kennedy’s inspirational legacy and his connections to Boston. During a tour of the Library and Museum, the Prince will see exhibits from the pivotal years of the Kennedy Administration in the 1960s, ahead of the moon landing in 1969. His Royal Highness will then attend a private lunch and discussion with representatives from the Founding Partner organisations of the Earthshot Prize."

Then, it's time for a star-studded evening at the second annual Earthshot Prize awards ceremony at MGM Music Hall at Fenway.

Once again this year, the Princess will present an award in good company with hosts and presenters, including Shailene Woodley, David Attenborough, Catherine O Hara, Rami Malek, Clara Amfo and Daniel Dae Kim. Performers on the night will see familiar faces Elie Goulding (who performed at the royal wedding), Annie Lennox, Billie Eilish and Chloe x Halle.

For the inaugural awards last year, guests were asked to choose outfits with sustainability in mind. I don't doubt we'll see it again on Friday. Last year, Kate repeated her beautiful lavender Alexander McQueen Grecian gown.

'Racism has no place in our society': Kensington Palace condemns 'unacceptable comments' by Prince William's own godmother Lady Susan Hussey as she RESIGNS from Buckingham Palace role

Prince William's spokesman today condemned 'unacceptable' comments by his own godmother who resigned from the royal household after she was accused of racism at a Buckingham Palace reception set up by Queen Consort Camilla.

Lady Susan Hussey, 83, a former lady-in-waiting to the late Queen, quit after she allegedly refused to believe a black domestic abuse campaigner was British and asked her: 'What part of Africa are you from?' as they spoke at the event yesterday.

The resignation is humiliating for Camilla and a potential PR disaster for Lady Hussey's godson William, who lands in the US today with the Princess of Wales for a landmark three-day tour now at risk of being overshadowed by the race row.

Addressing reporters before the start of the visit, a Kensington Palace spokesman said: 'I want to address the story relating to a guest attending a reception at Buckingham Palace last night. 

'This is a matter for Buckingham Palace but as the Prince of Wales' spokesperson I appreciate you're all here and understand you'll want to ask about it. So let me address it head on. 

'I was really disappointed to hear about the guests experience at Buckingham Palace last night. Obviously, I wasn't there, but racism has no place in our society. The comments were unacceptable, and it is right that the individual has stepped aside with immediate effect.' 

He added that the prince is 'aware of the comments' and 'thinks the course of action taken is correct'. 

Speaking today, Ngozi Fulani, director of the east London charity Sistah Space, said she was so shocked by the incident at Buckingham Palace that she 'couldn't report it to the Queen Consort' who had thrown the reception. 

'It was a gradual feeling, this lady came from nowhere. She demanded to know where I was from. No matter how many times I answered her it wasn't the answer she wanted,' she said. 

'It continued for about five or ten minutes. Gradually, I realised I need to do something about this, but what? What can I do? I just handled it as best I could.' 

The Palace said it took the incident extremely seriously' and had investigated immediately. Staff have been 'reminded of the diversity and inclusivity policies which they are required to uphold at all times', a spokesman said.

The Prince of Wales today backed Lady Susan Hussey's decision to step down from the royal household after she allegedly refused to believe a black domestic abuse campaigner was British and asked her: 'What part of Africa are you from?'

Publicist Mark Borkowski said the comments, which were made at a reception organised by Queen Consort Camilla, would serve as 'ammunition' for Meghan and Harry - who today released a polished trailer for the Invictus Games on the same day William and Kate began their US visit. 

Mr Borkowski told MailOnline: 'This is a PR disaster for the Royal Family and it is going to cause huge problems, especially at the start of William and Kate's US trip which will be dominated by a new racism row. They are flying into a perfect storm. 

'It is also ammunition for Meghan and Harry who can now tell Americans they have been proved right and say: 'Look we told you so' when they are on their own PR blitz with their Netflix show out next week and their Invictus promotions. 

'This scandal is the first real big test and crisis of Charles' reign. He must be ruthless in throwing this old guard out of the royal household. The optics are very bad at this time when the King wants to create an image of a new, modern, Royal Family'. 

As William and Kate began their trip in the US, culture and brand expert Nick Ede warned they risked being overshadowed' by 83-year-old Lady Susan's comments. 

'The whole point of William and Kate's trip has been put into jeopardy by someone's really terrible remarks at an event which - incredibly ironically - was meant to be all about inclusivity,' he told MailOnline.
