Royal Albert Hall is lit up in tribute to the late Queen as the King, Camilla, William and Kate lead family members paying respects to the war dead at annual British Legion
- King Charles, the Queen Consort and members of the royal family gathered at the Royal Albert Hall
- The Royals attended to pay their respects at the annual Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance
- Queen Elizabeth considered Remembrance Day one of the most important events in her annual calendar
- Kate wore a tailored belted black blazer and flowing calf length skirt, with three poppies pinned to her collar
- Camilla also opted for a black dress, adorned with sequined poppies and a delicate red poppy brooch

In her role as patron of the Royal British Legion, which she assumed in 1952, Her late Majesty only missed the Festival of Remembrance twice. It seems entirely fitting that tonight's performance was planned with a tribute to the monarch who was the longest-serving head of the armed forces.
The Royal British Legion's annual festival commemorates those who have lost their lives in service of their country.
It takes place on the eve of Remembrance Sunday, with two performances on the day -- a matinée open to members of the public and an evening event for members of the Legion, their families, officials and royals
The King and the Queen Consort led the evening and were joined by the Prince and Princess of Wales. the Earl and Countess of Wessex, the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra

"The necklace includes four rows of pearls with a central diamond clasp in a curved shape, each side including three rows of diamonds that join at the top and bottom with marquise diamonds. She made her first state visit to Japan in 1975; the choker was in use by at least 1982. The Garrard book posits that it was inspired by the Queen's new daughter-in-law at the time, and she did notably loan the piece to the new Princess of Wales during a state visit from the Netherlands in 1982. In 1947, the then Princess Elizabeth received seven larger pearls from the ruler of Bahrain. Two of those pearls were used to create the beautiful Bahrain pearl earrings. They've been in Kate's rotation for years and always add an elegant touch. More than anything, there's a deeply symbolic significance to these pieces now.

Charles III and Prince William lead the nation in falling silent to honour war dead: King marks first Remembrance Sunday service as Monarch and the royal family pay their respects to the fallen at The Cenotaph
- King Charles led the service as monarch for the first time today having previously stood in for the late Queen
- His late mother valued Remembrance Day as one of her most important duties and missed it just a few times
- A service with 10,000 war veterans and 10,000 members of the public has been led by the Bishop of London
- Big Ben chimed 11 times as it returns to service after years of repair works to mark the two-minute silence
It marks a year of historic change and the first time the service has been led by a king in over seven decades
For the first time, the new Queen Consort joined the new Princess of Wales on the balcony of the Foreign Office in Whitehall
As the clock struck eleven, a two-minute silence was observed. The silence represents the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918 when the guns of Europe fell silent. The time is marked by the firing of a field gun on Horse Guards Parade

Big Ben strikes back!
Big Ben was struck 11 times at 11am to mark the start of the two-minute silence on Remembrance Sunday.
Over the past five years the Elizabeth Tower, and the clockwork and bell mechanism within it, have undergone the biggest repair and conservation project in its 160-year history.
The tower, at the northern end of the Houses of Parliament, which is also known as Big Ben after the bell inside, had been covered in scaffolding during the restoration work but that has now been removed.
The two-minute silence marked the official return of the Elizabeth Tower's bells after they were silenced at the beginning of the conservation programme in 2017.
Big Ben joined bells across the country and worldwide to commemorate those who lost their lives in the two world wars and later conflicts.
