The Princess of Wales visited a dance studio in Leicester
to celebrate the culture and heritage of the city’s British Indian community.
Kate met dancers, musicians and community members who are helping to preserve and share traditional South Asian dance.
During the visit, the Princess watched several performances and spoke with artists about their work and the role dance plays in bringing communities together.
She appeared clearly impressed by one of the performances, reacting warmly as she watched the dancers.
The Princess also met members of the public and visited a nearby traditional clothing shop during the engagement.

到着すると、ご挨拶とともに、

滞在中、伝統的な南アジア舞踊の保護や普及に貢献する
ダンサー、音楽家、コミュニティメンバーとお会いに。
訪問中、妃は複数のパフォーマンスを観覧し、
アーティストたちと作品について、
またコミュニティを結びつける舞踊の役割について語り合った。
あるパフォーマンスには明らかに感銘を受けた様子で、
ダンサーたちを見つめながら温かい反応を示した。
「子供たちもとても喜ぶと思います。ダンスが大好きなんです。
ルイもあなたたちのダンスルーティンが大好きだとおもいます。」

'You must be super fit because it's super energetic,' the princess said afterwards.
'My
children would love that, they love their dancing. Louis would love
your dance routine,' she continued, referring to her youngest child.
その後、沿道に集まっていた人々と交流。
そして、近くの伝統衣装のお店にも立ち寄られ、
生地や煌びやかな装飾の施された洋服を、
興味深そうにご覧になっていたキャサリン妃。
ヒンドゥー教の寺院（礼拝所）も訪問され、
ホーリー祭についてや、若者の寺院活動に関してなど
色々と質問をされたそうで、関係者は感銘
また、儀式中の女性たちから、踊りに参加するよう招かれたキャサリン妃
「やってみましょう」と、一緒にダンスも。
どうやら、まさか本当に踊ってもらえるとは思っていなかった女性側は、大感激
このように、異文化への理解や、フレキシブルな皇太子妃の対応に、
コミュニティの人々は、心を掴まれたようです。
ここで注目したのは、キャサリン妃の素足！
基本、英国王室メンバーの方々は、素足NG
しかし、宗教や文化的なルールがある場面では例外
よって、この時の素足もレアなんです。
だから、キャサリン妃の足の画像もあるんだよね、、
こんなところまでズームされちゃうのが、ロイヤルの辛いところ、、、
なのに、載せちゃってごめんなさい！なのよ。
更に、
1976年開店のレストラン『ボビーズ』で
軽食とお茶を楽しまれたキャサリン妃。
お店の名は、1973年のインド・ボリウッド映画にちなんでつけられたのだとか。
色とりどりのデザートが並ぶショーケースに目を留めた。
プリンセスが、店主に店内の様々な「ミタイ」（インド菓子）
について尋ねている様子も
ラカニ氏が、イチジク、アーモンド、ピスタチオで作られた
ファッジのような健康的な「バルフィ」を指さすと、
キャサリン妃は「おいしそう」とコメント。
妃は夫のウィリアム皇太子がチョコレート好きだと、ラカニ氏に話した。

「辛いのは大丈夫」とグリーンチリを使ったチャツネを試食する中、
エンナは、グジャラート風スナックの家庭レシピを共有することを申し出た。
妃はさらに「私はコリアンダーとチリが大好きですが、
ウィリアムはコリアンダーがあまり好きではないんです」と付け加えた。

パスティーを売ったり作ったり
電話でのオーダーを受けられたんです笑
厚めのパイ生地で牛肉、ジャガイモ、玉ねぎ、スウィードを包んだ
半月型のパイ作りに挑戦された皇太子でしたが
周りを包む作業が難しかったもようで、
「ここに妻が必要です」と語られたり、
店先で、受け取りに来たお客さんへの接客や
電話でのオーダー受付まで。
終始、笑いに包まれていました。
仲の良さは離れていても健在！

この日は、お洋服を生成り色でスッキリまとめられたファッション
それに 贈られたバラ＆パールの首飾りがピッタリ！！❤️
事前にお聞きになっていたのかも？と思うくらい、

Members of the temple remarked on her
knowledge of the Holi festival and her many questions, particularly
about how young people are involved in the temple.
Kate was then invited to take part in a ladies' dance during a religious ceremony and said 'oh, go on then'.
The women who led the dancing said that they had not expected her to join in, but were delighted with her enthusiasm.
'It
was absolutely amazing,' said Mr Kachela afterwards. 'She was really
acknowledging what we're doing here, and really engaged.
'This is part of our faith, and it was very nice that she acknowledged what we're doing.'

was thinking of her three children as she ordered a selection of
traditional Indian sweets during a visit to Leicester yesterday.
Kate,
44, was at the city's famous Bobby's restaurant, named after a 1973
Bollywood film, when a display counter lined with colourful desserts
caught her eye.
A video of the
princess showed her asking the owner, Dharmesh Lakhani, about the
different types of 'mithai' or sweets at his shop.
Kate
remarked 'that looks delicious' when Mr Lakhani, 57, pointed out a
healthier 'barfi' - a fudge-like treat made with figs, almonds, and
pistachios.
She also told Mr Lakhani
that her husband, the Prince of Wales, loves chocolate, while a member
of staff packed a box of desserts for her to take home.
Bobby's was opened in 1976 by Dharmesh Lakhani's parents after they moved to the UK from Uganda when he was a child.
Mr Lakhani now runs the restaurant with his wife Enna, 56, as they invited the princess for tea and snacks.
Enna
offered to share her family recipe for a Gujarati savoury snack as Kate
spoke of her fondness for Indian food, adding 'I'm okay with spice'
while trying a chutney made from green chillies.
She added: 'I love coriander and chilli, but William is less of a fan of coriander.'

The Prince of Wales was missing his wife as he visited a Cornish pasty shop in Helston in honour of St Piran's Day yesterday.
The
Duke of Cornwall, as he is known in the West of England, was a good
sport as he joined employees of Gear Farm Pasty Company in the kitchen -
and even helped out by taking phone orders.
William,
43, tried his hand at pasty-making but found the crimping particularly
tricky- as the future King joked about his limited culinary skills in a
video from yesterday's outing.
In the clip on X/Twitter,
William does his best to replicate the Gear Farm employee's technique
as she shows him how to pinch the pastry to wrap the beef and potatoes
securely before crimping the folded edges.
'It's a lot harder than it looks!' William said, before adding: 'Feels like I might be taking this one home, guys.'
While
staff encouraged him, William admitted 'this is not my finest hour' and
that 'this is where I need my wife', adding that the Princess of Wales 'would be all over this'.
By
the time he was done, the pasty looked like 'a funny little crab' as
William said: 'Not sure this is going to be sellable,' he quipped.
William
and Kate, 44, carried out separate engagements yesterday as the future
Queen travelled to Leicester to mark the Hindu festival of colour, Holi.

スタッフが励ます中、ウィリアムは「これは僕の最高の瞬間じゃない」と認め、
「こういう時は妻が必要だ」と述べ、ウェールズ公妃なら「完璧にこなすだろう」と語った。
完成したパイはウィリアムが「売れるかどうか分からないな」
と冗談を言うほど「変な小さな蟹みたい」な見た目だった。
