attended ‘The Big Assembly’ by Place2Be hosted 
＠ Mitchell Brook Primary School this morning, as part of the Heads Together campaign to start millions of conversations on mental health in 2017.

認知を広めないとね。

”子供達のメンタルヘルス” につながるべく
”ちょっとの優しさ” をテーマに
この期間中、
広く拡散することが目的☆

そして、キャサリン妃も、
スピーチを通して
子供たちや若者たちの
メンタルヘルスの重要性
について述べられた。

"Place2Be" による調査では
10〜11才の700人のうち
いわゆる、Year 6 (プライマリースクールの最終年) 
の 63％が
常に不安を抱えていると告白。

"Place2Be" では
子供達に対し、
”優しさ”の拡散や
もしや困難な状況に陥っているかもしれない
クラスメートのために注意を払うよう
奨励している。

今年のテーマである、
”Kindness”

初めて開催された
"Kindness Cup" 
の表彰式も行われた。

優勝者は、10才

その他、
困難な時に、いかに”優しさ”が助けとなりうるのか、
生徒たちと一緒に
ディスカッションにも参加。

男子の方が、

Place2Be is a leading UK children's mental health charity providing in-school support and expert training to improve the emotional wellbeing of pupils, families, teachers and school staff.

The charity works directly with more than 282 primary and secondary schools across Wales, Scotland and England, reaching a school population of over 116,000 pupils.

It is one of the eight Charity Partners of the Heads Together campaign, to change the national conversation on mental health and make the 2017 London Marathon the mental health marathon.

This year the focus is on kindness, and its benefits for wellbeing. "It can be difficult to know how to help someone going through a difficult time, but small acts of kindness can make all the difference. Throughout the week, Place2Be is encouraging children to ‘spread a little kindness’ in their schools and at home, for example by looking out for classmates who may be having a difficult time, listening to how they feel, and if they need it, asking an adult for help".

Pupils also acted out role plays about being kind, and the school choir performed.

presented the first Place2Be 'Kindness Cup' to ten-year-old Nadia Dhicis who has shown exceptional kindness in their school community and beyond

joined a discussion with pupils on how kindness can help us through difficult times. 
A survey released by Place2Be - polling over 700 10-11 year olds, reveals that 63% of Year 6 pupils say they worry “all the time”.

'Thank you so much for your very warm welcome. It is great to be here to support Children's Mental Health week. 

People often ask me why I am so interested in the mental health of children and young people. The answer is quite simple - it is because I think that every child should have the best possible start in life.

When I was growing up I was very lucky. My family was the most important thing to me. They provided me with somewhere safe to grow and learn, and I know I was fortunate not to have been confronted by serious adversity at a young age.

For some children, maybe there are some here today; I know that life can sometimes feel difficult and full of challenges. I think that every child should have people around them to show them love, and to show them kindness, and nurture them as they grow. This is what Place2Be is doing so amazingly here in your school.

Recently I met an 11 year-old girl who was helped by Place2Be. She told me that if you keep your feelings inside, you can feel as though you will blow up like a balloon. But, by talking to someone about them, it can make you feel so much better. 

I thought that was such a clever way of looking at it. If we are worried, upset, lonely or angry – the best thing to do is to talk to someone about it. Whether that is your mother or father, a teacher or a friend.

I know that in your school you have been working on a project to spread a little kindness and I think this is such an important thing to do. 

If you see someone who you think might need help, try and be kind to them. Keep a look out for them if they are on their own or seem sad or worried. Perhaps they just need a hug or someone to talk to. 

I know it is hard if you are feeling down yourself. But helping someone out will also make you feel so much better too.

My parents taught me about the importance of qualities like kindness, respect, and honesty, and I realise how central, values like these have been to me throughout my life. That is why William and I want to teach our little children, George and Charlotte just how important these things are as they grow up. 

In my view it is just as important as excelling at maths or sport.

Now, I am very excited about presenting the Kindness cup and hearing your stories. Do remember that even if you don't win today, the fact that you are helping make your school such a supportive and friendly place is so important. You should all be very proud of yourselves and each other.

'You may be wondering why Catherine, Harry and I got involved in this topic in the first place,' he said. 'Mental health is traditionally not a mainstream subject, after all. 

'For me personally, it was a gradual awakening over many years through work I've been privileged to witness with vulnerable young people – the homeless, the unemployed, those who are unable to fulfill their potential.

'It was their openness about their mental health, their anxiety issues, their honesty about not coping, that made me realise that poor mental health was a major issue in our society, much greater than anyone cared to admit.'

He added: 

'It was an issue that needed addressing if we were to attempt to solve many other problems that trouble us.'

The Guild of Health Writers is 

a national, independent, membership organisation representing many of Britain’s leading health journalists and writers. Many other individuals and organisations maintain close links with the Guild as Friends or Associate Members.

The Guild was founded in 1994 to promote high professional standards and provide good quality, accurate health information to the public. It encompasses the whole spectrum of health and wellbeing, from innovative medical science to complementary therapies and lifestyle issues.

The Guild of Health Writers is a not-for-profit organisation. Income is derived primarily from subscriptions and sales of the GHW Members’ Directory. Some events and publications are sponsored by commercial organisations to help cover costs.

The Guild encourages the highest professional standards in health writing, and its members must agree to abide by the Guild’s Constitution and Code of Ethics.

The Guild aims to provide its members with impartial information, training, networking opportunities and a forum for balanced debate

The event was held 

@ Chandos House in central London. 

The Georgian townhouse was built by Robert Adam (the most prominent architect in Britain at the time) from 1769-1771. For over 130 years Chandos House was home to such notable residents as the Duke of Chandos, the Duke of Buckingham and Chandos, the Countess of Strafford, the Earl of Shaftesbury, and finally the newspaper tycoon Sir James Gomer Berry, Viscount Kemsley. For a period in the 19th century Chandos House was also used as the Austrian Embassy. The first resident ambassador was Prince Esterhazy and for the next 25 years the house was the scene of entertainment on the most lavish scale. He left the embassy in 1842 and was succeeded by various ambassadors until the lease on the property expired in 1866. During the Second World War the Grand Staircase had it's ceiling and skylight bombed out. Thankfully it was convincingly restored before ownership passed to the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM), who acquired Chandos House for the first time in 1963.

Chandos House was used by the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) as a hotel and events venue for members until it was sold in 1986 to finance the refurbishment of the Society's headquarters at 1 Wimpole Street. Unfortunately the house was then left unoccupied and neglected, so much so that it was placed on the English Heritage Buildings at Risk list. The Howard de Walden estate saved the house in 2002 by purchasing the lease, and identifying the RSM as future tenants. Howard de Walden agreed to refurbish Chandos House and to restore the Adam reception rooms as required by English Heritage. Finally in 2005 Chandos House reopened after a £5 million restoration. Today, it serves as an elegant events venue suitable for conferences, weddings and training seminars. There are seventeen bedrooms and six function rooms available to hire.

By design each room at Chandos House offers something different to guests, whether this is an Antonio Zucchi ceiling painting, carved Sienna Marble fireplace, Victorian Waterford Crystal chandelier or gilded mirror. The Terrace Room, with its large striking Venetian windows, adjoins the Garden Terrace
