『Netherlands 訪問』

初のオランダご訪問☆
しかも、
ソロで海外公務とは初めて！！

そういえば
2014年に2日間、
マルタ島へのソロ公務が
予定されましたが
つわりでドタキャン、、、でしたねえ。

よって、今回が初、と。

オランダの事実上の首都
デン・ハーグ
そして
ロッテルダム
2都市で3つの公務。

パレスによると、

メインは、

アート展だったようですね。

それに付随して、

他の関連公務をくっ付けられたそう。

言い方悪いけどw

キャサリン妃といえば、
St Andrew's大学時代
美術史を専攻
そして、現在
ナショナル・ポートレート・ギャラリー
のパトロンでもありますしね。

あれ？？
って、ワタシも思いましたが、

マキシマ王妃との3ショットはならず。
残念ながら、

祖国ブエノス・アイレスで
ご公務だったようです。

両国の会議。

ロッテンダムへ移動

最後は
ソーシャルメイカースペース
”Bouwkeet”
を訪問され、
ワークショップを視察されました。

なんと
驚くべきことが、この後に、、、、

公務を終了し
帰国の途へ向かわれたキャサリン妃が
民間機
BA(ブリティッシュ・エアウェイズ)
に搭乗！！！！

ビックリです、、、

there may have been a specific reason the Netherlands was chosen. The article describes the Duchess and members of the Royal family as a 'potent force' in exercising 'soft diplomacy' with EU countries as Brexit unfolds.

'The Netherlands is one of Britain’s biggest trading partners, with £68 billion of goods crossing the North Sea every year, but has not received a visit from a senior member of the Royal family for three years. It is likely to be the first in a regular roster of royal visits to European countries by members of the Royal family as the Government deploys them to help “beef up” bilateral relations with individual EU member states.

The Netherlands is Britain’s third-biggest export market, after the US and Germany, accounting for seven per cent of all exported goods, or £27.7 billion. The UK imports £41 billion of goods from the Netherlands every year, making it the third-biggest importer after Germany and China.

Former ambassador Oliver Miles, who served in the diplomatic service for 36 years, said: "It’s obvious that the Duchess is going to play this part in the future and this is a good way to start because relations with the Netherlands are good, partly because of the friendship between the two royal families."'

'At Home in Holland: Vermeer and his Contemporaries from the British Royal Collection'

The 22 works selected for this exhibition are some of the finest 17th-century genre paintings by Dutch artists in the Royal Collection. The 22 works have been loaned from the British Royal Collection to the Mauritshuis where they will be on display from 29th September 2016 until 8th January 2017

The museum houses the Royal Cabinet of Paintings which consists of 841 objects, mostly Dutch Golden Age paintings. The collections contains works by Johannes Vermeer, Rembrandt van Rijn, Jan Steen, Paulus Potter, Frans Hals, Jacob van Ruisdael, Hans Holbein the Younger, and others. Originally, the 17th century building was the residence of count John Maurice of Nassau. It is now the property of the government of the Netherlands and is listed in the top 100 Dutch heritage site

Johannes Vermeer (1632 – 1675) was a Dutch painter who specialized in domestic interior scenes of middle-class life. Vermeer worked slowly and with great care, and frequently used very expensive pigments. He is particularly renowned for his masterly treatment and use of light in his work. He was recognized during his lifetime in Delft and The Hague, but his modest celebrity gave way to obscurity after his death

Bouwkeet,
the social Makerspace of Bospolder-Tussendijken.
This is a new community focused initiative in the centre of an economically deprived district which provides a creative design and technology workspace

Local residents can use the facilities, and 'pay' by sharing their skills with others, providing education, skills and positive role models within the community. The centre works with local schools to bring young people in the area into workshops, where they learn to design, create and build their own projects

成り立っているそう。

若者たちを、このワークショップに引き込み
ここでデザインを学んだり、
プロジェクトをクリエイトしたり
作ったりできる体制が整っている
というからスゴイなあ〜〜

など、これらを
地元のクラフツマンたちが
地元の若者たちに教えているのだそう。
