The princess's visit focused on spotlighting the wellbeing of children and families as well as celebrating excellence in Welsh textiles manufacturing, both of which are themes close to her heart
キャサリン妃がまたまた、サプライズ登場！！
パレスの直前の発表で、この日キャサリン妃が南ウェールズをご訪問
思い返せば、キャサリン妃がソロで
ロンドン郊外というか、地方公務に臨まれたのは
なんと2023年以来だった！
これも体調が落ち着いている証拠
喜ばしい限り❤️
公務ができる喜び，みたいなものもきっとおありなのだろうなあ✨
恒例のパターンとして
公務と同時に、訪問先のパトロンとなられた発表も！
最初の訪問先である
子供達のホスピス『Tŷ Hafan』
のパトロンに。
'Opening in 1999 as Wales' first children's hospice, Tŷ Hafan continues to provide specialist care to children with life-shortening conditions, offering vital support to them and their families, throughout life, at end of life, and beyond.'
The Princess' visit to South Wales today is the first time she has visited the nation since undergoing her treatment and recovery. Her last engagements there were with her husband in October 2023.
During her visit today Catherine has sat through a musical therapy session in action.
To mark the visit and the announcement of the patronage, Kensington Palace have arranged for a donation of musical instruments to be provided to the charity to allow them to conduct more music therapy sessions in the future.
実は、チャールズ国王も2001年からこちらのパトロンで
更にそれ以前に、ダイアナ妃がこちらの資金集めをされていたこともあったよう。
というわけで、キャサリン妃が
義理のご両親からここのパトロネージュを受け継がれた形
思えば、キャサリン妃がロイヤルメンバーとなられて
最初にパトロンとなられたところの１つが
EACH（イースト・アングリア・チルドレンズ・ホスピス
と、こちらも子供達のホスピスでした。
最初の訪問先『Tŷ Hafan』の滞在中には、
スタッフ達からのヒアリングに、
ここで生活、またはケアを受けている子供達やその家族とお会いに。
プレイ＆音楽セッションや、アートセッションにも参加
子供達との互いに、ハンドペインティングもされたりも。
「子供達もこれは大好きよ」と言いながら、キャサリン妃が少女の手にペイントをした後、
今度は、ご自身の手にも。
ご自身の闘病があってか、以前にも増して子供達との交流が楽しそうというか
とっても熱意が印象的だった。
続いて、２つ目の訪問先
なんと、コーギ社！
私も大好きな、ウェールズを代表するニットを製造するブランド❤️
それはどうでもいいとしてw
2014年にはジョージ王子も，ここのニットを！
誕生翌年の皇太子ご一家のポートレートで
ジョージと書かれたコーギ社のブルーのニットを着用
超可愛いかった❤️
これ見て欲しくなったもんなあ
創業は1892年で、
1992年から、チャールズ国王のロイヤルワラントを保有
皇太子時代から、日常用のソックスを作っているそう。
国王はグレー、ネイビー、ダークグリーンの 「毎日履ける 」靴下を好まれ
その好みに合わせて一足ずつ 「少し長めに 」作っている、
とスタッフが明かした。
滞在中、キャサリン妃は工場内の視察や、製造工程についてお聞きになったり
なんとソックス作りに挑戦も！
どうやら、これは上手くいかなかった模様で
大笑いしながら、ソーリーで締め（笑）
私もチャレンジしたい！！というか、働きたい❤️
去る前にはキャサリン妃へのプレゼントも！
皇太子妃には、アイボリーのカシミヤジップカーディガン
そして、なんとキャサリン妃母キャロルさんの70歳のバースデープレゼントとして
ネイビーのラップ(ショール)も！！
これにはキャサリン妃も「予想していませんでした」とビックリ＆感動

と思いきや、15メートル動いたあたりで、車がストップ！
3台並走していた、その先頭車両からキャサリン妃が降りてこられ
「Who’s calling?」と(ヒールで)小走りで、1人の少女の方へ。
「Hello Princess！」と叫んだ少女の声に応えて、わざわざ下車されたキャサリン妃
少し会話をした後、少女が
「Are you a princess?」と質問をすると
「そう、この街がどんなところか見に来たのよ」
とご自身のことではなく、地元を称賛すべくような話へ。
少女は納得したかは？だが（笑）
大人は、さすが！の声しきりw
バナナを貰ったり返したり、投げたり、色々あったが、それは割愛
最後は、少女が
「I want a princess〜」と叫ぶ声を背に、
流石にお車へと戻られて、帰宅の途へ
この日のキャサリン妃ファッションは〜！
コート＋ドレス のいわゆる鉄板スタイル
が、冬コーデながら、白×黒という、
明るさのあるモノクロコーデがお見事
ホスピスも訪問だし、派手なのもNGだが
暗いのもね、、、ちょうど良いカラーバランスのコーデ
全て着回しアイテムで
生成りのロングコートは、サヴィル・ローのテイラー《クリス・カー》
2023年のデビュー以来、今回が3度目の着回しで
実は色違いで、黒もお持ちなほど、お気に入りといえるデザイン
インナーには、白黒のボウタイチェックドレス！
これは、これまでに3度着用されている《ザラ》！
2020年のデビュー当時、セールで16ポンド(約3000円)になっていたという
格安が話題となったが(私も日本で見た)
ドレス単体での着用はもちろん、コートとのコーディネートなど
とにかくシーズンレス素材ゆえに、超便利なドレス
ホント、買っておけば良かった、と毎度見るたび思う、、、
アクセサリーはシンプルに、スクエア形フープのみ。
すっかり甘めが影をひそめ
アクセサリー使いも、シャープなものが主流に。
そして、靴
キャサリン妃が小走りまで出来ちゃったヒールは
《ラッセル＆ブロムリー》
前回の公務でもこれだったし、最近愛用率が高い一足
ポインテッドでブロックヒールと
安定感あって、でもモード感出るからかしら
これも最近の共通点：全て着回しで
白×黒のモノトーンコーデというのが、寒い冬にも映える上
上品な華やかさもあり、着回しクイーンの本領発揮！
を実感するファッションでした
この日の訪問は、
子供と家族のウェルビーイングにスポットライトを当てることと、
ウェールズの織物製造業の卓越性を称えることにフォーカス
体調を見ながらとはいえ
着々と公務が増えているキャサリン妃
サプライズに私はパニくりますが（笑）
またの登場を期待しとります。

she visited a children's hospice, of which she has become patron, in south Wales today
The Princess of Wales today arrived for her first royal 'away day' since 2023 - as she continues her slow and gradual return to public duties
Upon arrival the Princess chatted outside the hospice with its staff, on the day she has been announced patron
The mother-of-three also warmly chatted with parents and carers asking: 'Are there any places like this in the community?'
In addition to attending and taking part in play and music therapy sessions, Kate visited treatment rooms for young patients
The Princess chatted to the parents of the children who use the hospice and receive care
Kate began her first royal 'away day' since 2023 with a heartwarming visit to Tŷ Hafan - the oldest Welsh children's hospice - in Sully near Cardiff, as she officially over its patronage from King Charles
The Princess of Wales brought a ray of sunshine to south Wales this morning as she visited a children's hospice
Catherine had joined children at a 'stay and play' fun-filled event after Kensington Palace donated musical instruments - and admitted her own children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis would have 'loved' the activities
During a music therapy session, the Princess tried her hand at some percussion and shook a maraca
The Princess beamed as she spoke with a young boy who walks with the aid of a walking frame
Kate made a beeline for the young children inside as the mother-of-three exuded warmth and friendliness during her interactions with them
The Princess of Wales, 43, visited children at a Welsh hospice on Thursday 'as a friend, not a royal' and formed instant connections by 'making them smile', a body language expert has said
Kate shared a sweet moment with the little girl when she held her hand and engaged in conversation with her
The Princess erupted in laughter as she repaid the favour and painted the hand of a little girl who uses the hospice
Photos from Kate's visit this morning showed her holding hands with the children, who have life-limiting conditions, kneeling beside them while asking about their interests, and joining in a hand-painting session as well
The Princess made art with her hands with the help of a nine-year-old Lottie who painted her palm bright red
The princess then helped four-year-old Maggie, sibling of Felix, make a handprint.
Kate grabbed her hand and said: 'Shall we do it together? Would you like me to paint your hand?'
She held her hand and brushed on red paint and said: 'Tell me it tickles. Is it ticklish? My kiddies would love this if I went and did this back at home today.'
Afterwards, Lottie, 10, who is also Felix's sister, took her turn to paint the princess as Kate quipped 'it's very relaxing'.
Then asked 'ready?' and placed her hand on a piece of paper and said 'I should have done my nails.'
Looking at her mark left behind she said: 'It's huge!'
Then after washing off the paint she signed it 'Catherine' next to the handprint which will be digitised and put on the wall with others from children, their siblings and parents.
Like her father-in-law, King Charles, who visited the hospice in 2018, Kate also created a handprint artwork

The princess shared a joke with some of the parents and staff as she spoke to them about life in hospice care
Towards the end of her visit, Kate praised the environment and work of Tŷ Hafan and said she understood how important it was that families had a lifeline
Kate is following in the footsteps of Princess Diana to become the patron of the hospice. Diana is pictured in 1996 at an event raising funds for the hospice

visited Corgi, a family run textiles manufacturer in Ammanford
Corgi was founded in 1892 by the current owners' great great grandfather, selling socks to miners.
In the 1960s, the company expanded to include traditional men's knitwear including jumpers and scarves
When Mr Jones and Ms Wood, took over, they expanded again to include womenswear and childrenswear. They also purchased machines to start making certain types of socks.
They now employ 50 people and export to 34 countries, making around 200,000 pairs of socks a year.
The company has held a Royal Warrant from the King since 1992. The monarch likes an 'every day' sock in grey, navy and dark green, with each pair made 'slightly longer' to suit his tastes, staff revealed.
They also make white and red socks for the various Highland regiments, which are used for ceremonial events. Each pair takes a whole day to make and would cost around £600 a pair if they were sold to the public.

The princess was the centre of avid attention as she spoke to staff at their sewing machines
Kate tried her hand at making the socks and knitwear, but later apologised for being so 'terrible' at it
She listened intently to members of the production team as she learned more about the process
She was told what to do by a member of the production team, looking at the socks closely under a bright light
Kate appeared to be having the time of her life as she got to try out making the socks herself
Kate was given a sneak peak at some of the items the manufacturer was making

As she stepped out to her convoy, a gaggle of onlookers cheered and waved and one small girl could be heard shouting 'Hello Princess.'
After driving some 15 metres towards them, she got out of the car to say hello.
'Thanks for saying hello,' she told the little girl, three-year-old Lily-Rose Logan. 'I heard you from all the way over there. I've just been to see this amazing factory where they make wonderful socks.'
Lily-Rose gave the Princess her toy banana to hold. When she gave it back, she threw it on the floor.
