ウィリアム皇太子＆キャサリン妃ご夫妻が
2日間、ウェールズを訪問
昨年9月にウェールズ公爵夫妻になって以来
度々訪問されています。
いわゆる、戴冠式を祝した
コロネーション・ツアー
皇太子夫妻となられたお二人にとって
ウェールズとコーンウォールは重要な場所。
強固な関係を築いておきたいところ。
サウス・ウェールズ渓谷やミッド・ウェールズの景色と共に
まずは、
”the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team”
のメンバー達とのアクティブな時間を。
ボランティアによる運営で、
年中、２４時間体制で活動する
”Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team”
指導のもと、山岳救助隊
ウィリアム皇太子は
のパトロンであり、
思えば、新婚時代は
"East Anglian Air Ambulance"
のパイロットとして勤務されていましたね。
というわけで、お2人は
渓谷での懸垂下降に挑戦！！
すごい。。。。
これまでも海外ツアー等で拝見したことはあったが、
ここ、かなり傾斜キツいし高い！！！
「最後にやったのはいつですか？」と聞かれ
皇太子は、「しばらくぶりです」とジョーク
また
いざ挑戦！の前に
髪を結び、ポニーテールにする妻へ
「これはレースじゃないよ！」とツッコミも（笑）
そして、
「じゃあ、始めましょう。
会話をしにきたのではなく、懸垂下降をするためにいるのですから」
見てると怖そうだったけど、お2人とも楽勝のご様子でした、、、、すご。
その後には、山脈でのレスキューを視察
患者に見立てた訓練にも参加。
そして、地上へ。

その前に、寄るところが。
ピザを販売するヴァンで
大量のピザをお二人がピック。
それを持って、クラブへ❤️
こちらの、ウェールズのラグビー・クラブは、
同じく
“the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team”
のメンバー達が、家族とリラックスするための場所。
ここで、メンバー達やご家族とお会いに。
もちろん、
沿道に集まった、地元の人々と交流も。
この時、キャサリン妃が
珍しく、ダイアナ元妃についてお話しに！
婚約指輪のサイズが
ダイアナ元妃と、全く同じなのだそう！
これは自慢ねw

The Prince and Princess of Wales have visited Bannau Brycheiniog to mark 60 years of the volunteer-run Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team. Their Royal Highnesses abseiled, took part in medical support exercises, and joined in a search dog rescue demonstration on the first of their two-day tour of Mid and South Wales. 'Before heading over the edge Kate, who had her hair tied in a ponytail, was heard telling William: "We're not racing."
The heir to the throne led the way over the edge after teasing Kate, saying:
"Come on then are we going to abseil or stand around talking."

"Have you got everything on the list?" And joked, "It's like calling him about the weekly shopping list."

It is recognition too for the families and employers who stand compassionately behind us, as we leave home or work at a moment’s notice to help others. We couldn’t do what we do without their support and understanding.

The rugby club is where many of the volunteers with the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team go to relax and socialise. When asked by a royal fan about wearing Diana's engagement ring, she confirmed it was the 'same ring', adding that she didn't have to have it adjusted to fit.

One royal watcher asked Kate if she remembered Diana, to which Kate replied, 'I never met her, sadly'.
