Her Royal Highness and the First Lady also joined children taking part in a number of classroom activities. Delivering education to children aged 4-11 years old, Connor Downs Academy is a member of the Aspire Academy Trust family which comprises 28 primary schools across Cornwall.

"It was great to host Dr. Jill Biden and experts from the UK and the United States for a discussion on the importance of early childhood on lifelong outcomes, on the first day of the G7 Summit." In response, the First Lady tweeted "We could have kept going for hours! Thank you for having me today to talk about an issue we both care deeply about, and one that is critical to the future of both our countries."
The G7 (Group of Seven) is an organisation comprising some of the world's "most influential and open societies and advanced economies", coming together for close-knit discussions on a plethora of issues.
Leaders have gathered since the 1970s, with ministers convening throughout the year. Of course, Covid-19 recovery is top of the agenda; climate change and trade feature prominently, too. This year, the chosen location for the summit is the picturesque Cornish resort of Carbis Bay.

'The G7 (Group of Seven) is an organisation of the world's seven largest so-called advanced economies. They are Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and the United States. Russia joined in 1998, creating the G8, but was excluded in 2014 for its takeover of Crimea.
China has never been a member, despite its large economy and having the world's biggest population. Its relatively low level of wealth per person means it is not seen as an advanced economy in the way the G7 members are. Representatives from the European Union are usually present while India, South Korea and Australia have also been invited this year.'
