It was Her Royal Highness' first visit with the ACU since becoming Patron.

500以上の機関と関連し
教育の向上や開発の支援をしている。
こちらも
エリザベス女王が、
33年にわたり、パトロンとなられていた組織
この日、メーガン妃は
ロンドンはイズリントンにある
ロンドン大学シティー校を
ご訪問
もちろん、ACUとリンクしていて
研究機関でもある大学
教育問題にも関心が強いメーガン妃
こちらのパトロネージュも
クイーンとお茶しながら、選ばれたのでしょう。
Earlier this month, Her Majesty passed the patronage of the ACU to the Duchess. Given Meghan's interest in working across the Commonwealth and her belief in the importance of education it was an ideal choice. In December, Meghan visited the ACU at King's College London to discuss higher education opportunities for young people all over the world. Discussion focused on the role of universities in addressing human trafficking and modern slavery, gender equality and inclusion, peace and reconciliation, and climate change and resilience.

そうして、女性の教育に弊害をもたらしている
という事実を訴えていらっしゃいます。
昨年10月、初ロイヤルツアー中、
フィジーでは、
ACU関連の大学を訪問され
ロイヤルとなって、初のスピーチもされました。
その際には
ご自身の、経済面での葛藤についてもお話に。
そして卒業に至った時の喜びも。
Meghan graduated from Northwestern University with a joint Bachelor of Arts degrees in theater and international relations in 2003.
先月には
King's Collegeをサプライズ訪問され
ACUとのミーティングも。
高水準の教育というものが
人身売買や男女同権の問題に
対処できるかについてディスカッションがなされた。
ここ、ロンドンの大学を滞在中、
500の大学メンバーの
ACUのネットワークからの
生徒たちや学者たちとお会いに。
滞在予定時間を20分超えて、できる限り、
生徒たちをお話になっていたようです。

is the world's first and oldest international university network, established in 1913. A UK-registered charity, the ACU has over 500 member institutions in developed and developing countries across the Commonwealth.

The Duchess of Sussex visited City, University of London today to meet with students and academics from around the Association of Commonwealth Universities' network.
The Duchess has become Patron of the international organisation – which helps to bring different universities together from around the world to advance knowledge, promote understanding, broaden minds and improve lives.
Her Majesty The Queen has passed on to The Duchess of Sussex the Royal Patronage, the only accredited organisation representing higher education across the Commonwealth, having held the role for the past 33 years.
As a university graduate, Her Royal Highness is a strong advocate of accessible education for all, and as part of The Duke and Duchess’s visit to Fiji last year, Her Royal Highness announced new Gender Grants for ACU member universities in the Pacific to fund new learning initiatives aimed at empowering female university staff and promoting gender equality.
This year, 2019, also marks the 60th anniversary of the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan and the launch of the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships, which build Commonwealth connections amongst students through education.
Established in 1913, the ACU is the world's first and oldest international university network, with more than 500 member institutions in over 50 countries.
It is the only accredited organisation representing higher education across the Commonwealth.

Education is a subject Meghan is passionate about, and in her first speech as a royal during her trip to Fiji last October, she recalled her own struggle to finance her higher education at the prestigious Northwestern University in Illinois, where she graduated with a joint Bachelor of Arts degrees in theater and international relations
In March 2017 for International Women's Day, Meghan spoke out about the stigma surrounding menstruation, particularly in impoverished countries such as India, where the girls are shamed for starting their periods.
Her words were published in Time magazine and also on her now defunct blog, The Tig.
Meghan wrote how stigmatisation of young girls in Africa, India, Iran and several other countries, curtails their freedoms and the right to access an education.
She wrote: 'Based on societal ignominy in the developing world, shame surrounding menstruation and its direct barrier to girls education remains a hushed conversation.
'One hundred and thirteen million adolescent girls between the ages of 12-14 in India alone are at risk of dropping out of school because of the stigma surrounding menstrual health.
'During my time in the field, many girls shared that they feel embarrassed to go to school during their periods. Ill equipped with rags instead of pads, unable to participate in sports, and without bathrooms available to care for themselves, they often opt to drop out of school entirely.
'Furthermore, with minimal dialogue about menstrual health hygiene either at school or home due to the taboo nature of the subject, many girls believe their bodies are purging evil spirits, or that they are injured once a month; this is a shame-filled reality they quietly endure.'
Meghan reportedly spoke of her struggle to finance her higher education and her 'personal feeling of pride and excitement' when she studied for her degree.
She described the education of women and girls in developing countries as 'vital', and called higher education's impact 'incredible, impactful and pivotal'.
Meghan graduated from Northwestern University with a joint Bachelor of Arts degrees in theater and international relations in 2003.

'Dr Ephraim Kisangala said: 'The Duchess was very passionate about our work, I could tell she had a genuine concern for the women we are trying to help. 'She has been to Africa and has also identified the problem herself in the past for the women who are suffering due to the attitudes towards menstruation across the world. My research is specifically targeted at finding solutions to assist women in refugee settlements in Uganda and the Duchess said more must be done to help these women. The most affected are women and children who flee without even the basic of necessities.
'I told the Duchess how Uganda host the second largest number of refugees in the world, 70% of whom arrived in the last few months. The Duchess said to me how shocked she was and how it was so important to raise awareness of this issue so that more can be done.'

'Meghan reacted with shock saying “oh my god” when shown a sheet of data published by a higher education charity showing UK professors were overwhelming white males, said Dr Rachel Cowen.
Dr Cowen, who is Manchester University’s lead for equality, diversity and inclusion, pointed out the research from Advance HE that revealed 68% of UK professors were white males, 23% white female, 6.5% black and minority ethnic (BME) male and 2% BME female.
The duchess turned to her private secretary Amy Pickering and asked her to take a picture of the data relating to the 2016-17. Dr Cowan, who supports ethnic minority and female staff at Manchester University, said: “She was really surprised, she was like ‘oh my god, really, we need to get a photograph of this’.”
