meet young people from a number of mental health projects operating in New Zealand offering support to other young people through helplines,

social media, websites and school-based programmes.

Part ②

From Wellington,

travel to Abel Tasman National Park,

which sits at the north-Eastern tip of the South Island,

and is an area famed for its golden beaches and native bush walks.

greeted by a traditional welcome ceremony on arrival,

before embarking on a trail walk with one of the park’s rangers to learn more about the history of the forest and the environmental challenges of protecting the park’s habitat. Before departing, The Duke and Duchess will join some of the park’s young ambassadors and local school children at a barbeque lunch and for a tree planting.

That evening back in Wellington,

visit Courtenay Creative

for an event celebrating the city’s thriving creative arts scene.

Courtney Creative runs programmes to give young people the tools and experience to excel in the film industry, and The Duke and Duchess will meet a number of young creatives demonstrating their skills in props, make-up, and costume.

Prince Harry spoke about his own struggles with the group. NewsHub reports:

"It's an issue that's so close to their hearts, he's obviously in the Royal family and he's gone through his own thing, he said it can literally affect anyone," Ms Thornton told Newshub. "Mental illness does not discriminate, we made that an important message and he backed that up by saying 'yes, it doesn't discriminate, you can be anyone and go through this sort of thing'," she said.

Ms Mora said it was a "huge honour" to be able to talk to them about an issue that is so important and impacts many New Zealanders."He was asking us questions and being very open about his own struggles with mental health, so it was a very open conversation and we all got a chance to really say what we needed to say," she said. "He was genuinely really interested in the work we're doing."

Ms Thornton said Prince Harry was so interested in their discussion; he was reluctant to be moved along from their chat. "They started shooing him along, and he said 'Ah, they're shooing us along but we don't want to leave yet', so I am pretty sure they would have stayed longer if they could but they were on a time constraint."

'During a visit to a beachside cafe in Wellington, New Zealand, she described the conundrum of determining whether images and people’s lives are real or fake. She said: “Young people find it so difficult. “You see photos on social media and you don’t know whether she’s born with it or maybe it’s a filter. “Your judgement of your sense of self worth becomes really skewed when it’s all based on likes.”

Among the young people the Duke and Duchess met was Ezekiel Raui, one of the Queen's Young Leaders, who after experiencing several youth suicides at his high school founded Te Kotahi, a peer-support programme led by young people.

It’s known for the Abel Tasman Coast Track, a long trail winding over beaches and across ridges between Marahau in the south and Wainui in the north. The headland at Separation Point is home to New Zealand fur seal colonies.

"Inside a marquee set up on the grass, local kaumātua Barney Thomas spoke in te reo, wishing them "kia kaha" with their "pepi", Meghan smiling as this was translated. He later explained that he'd told the royals, "There's two of you now and there will be three of you soon, and I'm sure you'll be supported."

Meghan sat in the front row of a line of plastic chairs, but hers was set a few inches back from Harry's. Barney, of Onetahua Marae in Golden Bay, explained, "The middle represents the god of war and we don't want to put our women into that space. We want to be inclusive but especially Meghan, because she's expecting, we don't want to put her at any risk."
