グレンフェルタワーの大火災の被災者たちの支援

ご結婚前から
メーガン妃はすでに幾度となく訪問されサポート
結婚後も、もちろん。

そして、先日
寄付を募る
チャリティー料理本も出版され
メーガン妃は、はしがきや写真も。

発売前からベストセラーとなり、
発売後も、7週間で
英国だけで4万冊が売れ
21万ポンドの寄付を集める結果に。

それ発売直後以来
この日、再び
ハブ・コミュニティ・キッチンを訪問され
寄付がどのように使われたかを視察

そして、やはりこの時も
地元の被災者たち
200人分のお料理つくりをお手伝いも。

Last summer, a group of women gathered in a communal kitchen at the Al Manaar community centre in West London, where they could prepare fresh food for their families, friends and neighbours. As they cooked together and shared recipes, as a community they began to connect, heal and look forward. Word spread and more women joined in - this was the start of the Hubb Community Kitchen

During the launch event in September, Meghan described the project as "a labour of love". Over months of private visits and conversations, the Duchess forged a bond with the women of the Hubb. Struck by their courage, kindness and determination to rebuild their community following the horrific Grenfell Fire, Meghan knew her first solo project would involve supporting the Hubb. Earlier this month Russell Myers reported: "Meghan has struck up a “deep and personal friendship” with several women during secret visits to Hubb Community Kitchen, which helps families left destitute by the blaze. And she now “sees it as her personal duty to help the survivors” – and will help them for “as long as it takes”. A palace source said: “The Duchess has made regular private visits to the kitchen and to the women of Hubb and will continue to do so."

The visit coincided with the delightful news Together has sold 40,000 copies in seven weeks in the UK alone and raised £210,000 for the Hubb kitchen. The book reached number one on Amazon.co.uk book chart within hours of being announced, and has appeared in the Sunday Times and New York Times Bestseller lists, selling tens of thousands of copies since its release.

'Meghan, who has been making private visits to the kitchen since January, quickly abandoned any formality when she got inside. She threw her arms around each of the women and kissed them, chattering excitedly about what they had been up to since she last saw them. 'Hi, how are you? Wow, it's so quiet in here,' she said, giggling.

She also introduced chef Clare Smyth, a friend of hers, to the volunteers in the kitchen. Smiling, Meghan said: 'I'm so proud of you. It's really exciting. 'The people involved in the kitchen are 'incredible', said Ms Smyth, who visited the kitchen for the first time with Meghan.

The Co Antrim-born chef, who now lives in London and has a restaurant near the community facility, said: 'If everyone took care of their community like this there would be no issues in the world.' Ms Smith said Meghan had spoken with passion about the kitchen. 'She's really into food, she's a real foodie.'

The Hubb now prepares 200 meals in just one day,
to be delivered to local groups, including elderly people’s homes, homeless shelters and women’s refuges

Meghan told the group:
"It starts from one idea and from this one idea starts so much. I’m so proud of you."

Previously the kitchen was only able to open two days a week due to funding. The women are now able to use the kitchen seven days a week, and have been upskilled to gain food hygiene qualifications and empowered to start their own projects, which will help others in their community benefit from the kitchen
