『the 70th Anniversary of D-Day』

1944年西ヨーロッパ解散の為、
陸海空軍による史上最大の協同作戦が実施された。
コード名「オーバーロード」
ノルマンディーの海岸に上陸し開始された軍事作戦は
1945年5月ヨーロッパでの連合軍への勝利をもたらした。

この記念すべき日に、
 総勢１８か国のトップが
 出席となった。
エリザベス女王は、その時を知る
最後の君主なのだそう。。。

クイーン＆フィリップ王子、チャールズ子皇太子＆カミラ夫人とは別れて参加


ウィリアム王子＆キャサリン妃は
ティーパーティに出席され、
ベテラン達に敬意を表された。

その後、
上陸の場となった５つのビーチ
（five primary beachheads: the most famous is Omaha; the others are Utah, Juno, Sword and Gold Beaches）
のうちの一つで、
イギリス軍が兵役や食料を下す為に一時的に作ったハーバーであった
”Gold Beach”に移動し、
を式典に参加された。


さて、
 神聖なる式典に、キャサリン妃が選んだ出で立ちは・・・・・・

 着回しだった～！！！！
しかも、メッチャ見覚えある・・・・
先日４月のニュージーランドで初登場した《Alexander McQueen》のブルーのコート

フランス、そんな寒いの？？
 レベッカさん、薄いんだけど・・・・・

ミリタリー関連ということで、
色・デザインは、確かにバッチリですが。
むしろ、どうせ着まわすなら、
初年度のマックイーンの紺の金ボタンコート着てくれば良かったのに・・・・。

昔過ぎていっそ新鮮に思えた。。。

 あと、着になるのは、
この冬素材コートに、ストローの帽子！！！
う～～ん、色と雰囲気は◎だけど、素材感がちと違いますね、実は。
惜しいっ

"ノルマンディー上陸作戦７０年記念式典"

フランス北西部のノルマンディー地方で、
第２次世界大戦中の上陸作戦から７０年となるのを記念する式典が、
アメリカやロシアなど１９か国の首脳らが参加して、
日本時間の６日午後１０時すぎから始まりました。

ノルマンディー上陸作戦は、
第２次世界大戦中の１９４４年６月６日、
アメリカ軍を主体とする連合軍が、
ナチスドイツに占領されていたフランス北西部のノルマンディー地方に上陸し、
連合国側の勝利を決定づけたものです。
作戦の記録を伝えるイギリスの博物館によりますと、
この日に上陸した兵士はおよそ１５万６０００人で、
連合国側が勝利する大きな転機となった、
史上最大の作戦といわれています。

式典は、この作戦から７０年となるのを記念して、
上陸地点の１つとなった海岸を会場に行われ、
イギリスのエリザベス女王やアメリカのオバマ大統領のほか、
ロシアのプーチン大統領、
それに、ウクライナで大統領に当選したポロシェンコ氏ら
１９か国の首脳らが招かれました。

この機会にウクライナ情勢を巡って対立する
オバマ大統領とプーチン大統領がことばを交わし、
事態打開のきっかけにつながるのかどうかが注目されます。

 ８８才のベテランの一人が
キャサリン妃に
 「キスしてもいいかい？」と聞いたそうな(笑)

キャサリン妃「もちろん、いいですよ」

その後、それを見ていたウィリアム王子が
「先ほど、うちの妻とお喋りされてました？」
ベテラン「キスしただけだよ」

ウィリアム王子「(笑)」

ベテランも後で・・・・・
「ロンドン塔に連れてかれるかもね・・・」

さすがギリス人！！！の会話♥

どうやら、このベテランの８８才のおじいちゃま
奥様を失くし、キスする相手が居なくて、
しかもキャサリンさんが好きで、こうなったらしい。

Kate, 32, was given a cheeky kiss by 88-year-old Arthur Jones, one of 50 veterans and widows invited to meet the royal couple.
Arthur seized the moment to give the duchess a peck on the cheek when Kate sat down to talk to him.
Arthur, a Desert Rat from the 7th Armoured Division, asked her: “Is it OK to kiss a princess?”
“Of course it is,” replied laughing Kate, who was wearing the same military-style Alexander McQueen blue coat she wore during the royal tour of New Zealand.
When William saw what happened, he came over to tease his wife.
Arthur, from Wolverhampton, said: “As the prince left he said to me ‘Were you chatting up my wife?’.
"I told him ‘I only gave her a kiss’.
“William laughed but I’m chuffed I’ve chatted up a princess.
“I bet I’ll be picked up now and taken to the Tower of London.
“It was a lovely kiss – she is very sweet and very lovely.”


Arthur added: “I lost my wife 10 years ago and I’m on my own now so I don’t get many opportunities for kisses any more.
“I always thought Kate looked beautiful, but she has a very down to earth personality. It was like she was one of us.”

Following a tea party, visited Gold Beach, where the 1944 D-Day landings took place.

The royals then moved to Gold Beach for the remembrance ceremony where William laid a wreath and addressed the gathered crowd. Gold Beach was the central beach of the five beaches invaded in the dawn of June 6, 1944. The British forces were assigned this landing and they took it at the cost of 400 men.
