The Princess of Wales, Patron of The Forward Trust is visiting HMP High Down to learn about how the charity is supporting those in the criminal justice system to manage and recover from their addictions. The Forward Trust has been helping people break the destructive cycle of addiction and build positive and productive futures since 1991

2021年に、
”The Forward Trust”と合併をし、キャサリン妃はこちらのパトロンに。
HMP High Down is home to around 1,100 prisoners and the royal visit comes ahead of Addiction Awareness Week which will take place from 28 October to 4 November, and whose theme is 'Everybody Knows Somebody', to highlight the vast array of people across society who are affected by addiction.
この日の公務は、その関連で、
10月28日から11月4日まで開催される
”Addiction Awareness Week（依存症啓発週間）”
に先駆けて行われたもの。
”フォワード・トラスト”のパトロンとして
サリー州にある、”HMPハイダウン（刑務所）”に制限付きで訪問。
ここは、”His Majesty Prison"と言うだけあって
なんと、英国君主が運営にも関わっているんですね。。。
すごい
その中で、慈善団体（フォワード・トラスト）が、
刑事司法制度の中でどのように依存症を管理、
回復するためのサポートをしているか、視察とヒアリングをされた。
また、キャサリン妃は
フォワード・トラストで働く元受刑者たちとも会話をされた模様。
更には、ある家族ともお会いになるべく、
受刑者の家族が面会前に受けるセキュリティの手続きから、
面会の席までの、とても困難な状況も
目の当たりにされたそう。
元受刑者の女性から、子供の頃から、
父のベッドの下のマーガリン容器に注射器が入っていたことを知っていたりと
生活の中に、当たり前に依存症があったことなどをお聞きになったキャサリン妃。
訪問後、個人的な声明として、
「いかに依存症が社会問題の核心であり、薬物乱用がいかに弱い立場の人々の生活に破壊的な影響をもたらすかを思い知らされました。」と語られた。
'Kate met four inmates and talks to them about overcoming drug and alcohol issues and tells them she strongly believes addiction is not a choice.
A Kensington Palace spokesperson added:
"The Princess’s experience working with addiction charities for more than a decade has helped lay the groundwork for her understanding of the complexities of mental health and has informed much of her work on the early years. Experiences in early childhood, before the age of five, are proven to have significant impact on adult lives, including resilience and the ability to cope with adversity."
訪問先の関係でしょう、公務は事前告知なく、突然に遂行
それは納得なのだけれど、
この日、キャサリン妃に
３つの注目ポイントが！
まず一つ目が、キャサリン妃の手
到着されるや否や、
キャサリン妃の、右手人差し指と中指にテーピングが！
あれ？！また、、、、（笑）
と思ったのも無理はない、
絆創膏がよく貼ってあるw
が、今回は、もう少しシリアスな状況のよう
が、理由はどうやら
ご自宅でお子様達とトランポリンをしていて、倒れたのだとか、、、
the Princess has a "small injury, nothing serious" caused by having too much fun on a trampoline :) Kate has often shared her love of keeping fit and keeping active with the children, recently saying, "Whenever I can squeeze in exercise I do, even jumping on the trampoline with the children before school."
以前から、日頃のエクササイズの一つとして、
朝、子供達を学校に送って行く前にトランポリンをやることも、
とさえ話されていたキャサリン妃でしたが、
夢中になり過着ちゃった？！、、、。
まじすぎ、かもしれないw
家事中でなく、遊び中、、、というのが
なんともキャサリン妃らしくもあったり、なかったり（笑）
しかも、この日、挨拶の際
握手を思いっきり、握りしめていたっぽい、先方の方
以外にも魔の前の人は気づかないかも、、、
恐らく手の怪我をご存じなかったのでしょうが、
痛そう、、、でしたわ。
そんなテーピング付きのキャサリン妃でしたが、
ファッションは、超シャープなカッコイイ系！
《アレキサンダー・マックイーン》の
肩がツンと張った、モードなパンツスーツ！
ネイビーにアメジストもお持ちで
一見似てるんだが、この日は、アメジスト
昨年12月に、ウィリアム皇太子とボストン到着された際
お召しになっていたもので、
今回2度目。
インナーに白のトップス
リーフ型のピアスに、お子様達のイニシャル入りのネックレス。
ネイビーのスエードパンプスで、スーツと繋げて脚長効果と、
全身着回しアイテムでの節約コーデでした。
そして２つ目の注目ポイントが、ヘアスタイル！！
キャサリン妃にとって、私が勝手に思う
”夏休み明けあるある”、ですが（笑）
キャサリン妃の髪がやけに伸びている、または焼けてる、
ということで、その直後にヘアスタイルが変わること、あり。
どのみち美容院行くのと、新学期ですからね〜〜、英国では。
と言うわけで、今回も変化あり！
色は明るさ、残しつつのブラウン系
艶を出して、ピカピカですが❤️
それに加え
長さを活かした、大きな縦巻きカールと
カーテン・バングスとも称される前髪！！
とっても70年代風ですね〜！
メークも、パンツスーツに合わせて、
ダークカラーのメークだが、
色がネイビー系？通常より濃くみえる。。。
ダークカラーの目元も手伝って、全体的にワイルドですね〜
どんどんシャープになっていくキャサリン妃
個人的に、ヘアスタイルはお似合いだし、いいと思うけど、
メークは少々やり過ぎ感、、、
色の問題かもだが、もう少し抑えめ、
か、ソフトな目元にラインくっきり、
くらいが好きだなあ。。
ところで、最近パンツスーツ多いね、、という印象ですが、
この日は、別理由だったかもしれない、、、
なぜなら、同日ビッグニュースが！
アレキサンダー・マックイーンの逝去後
ブランドを約20年にもわたって率いてきた
《サラ・バートン》氏が
今月のパリコレ(2024ssコレクション)を最後に
なんと引退！
という発表があったんです。
ご存じ、2011年のロイヤルウェディングでのウェディングドレスに始まり
昨今では、キャサリン妃の鉄板＆信頼ブランドとなっていただけに
キャサリン妃にとっても恐らくショックな出来事でしょう。。。
私もショック、、、、
この日、マックイーンのお洋服を着用されたのは
そんなニュースを意識して
デザイナーへの感謝の意を表されてのことかも？？
兎にも角にも、私的には
今後のキャサリン妃ファッションに、影響を及ぼすことは間違いない、、、
と少々ブルーに。。。

キャサリン妃は、HMP High Down内で”フォワード・トラスト”が行っている、
依頼人の依存症管理を支援し、依存症の世代を超えたトラウマを断ち切るための活動についてヒアリングをされた。
今年のキャンペーン・テーマは
"Everybody Knows Somebody "で、
社会全体で依存症の影響を受けている膨大な数の人々に焦点を当てることを目的としています。

この訪問は、キャサリン妃が”アクション・オン・アディクション”のパトロンであることと、
社会全体における依存症の犠牲者を理解したいという想いから実現。
元受刑者のカースティを含め、依存症のつらい連鎖をキャサリン妃へ語った人たち。
「父のベッドの下に、注射器が入ったマーガリン容器があったことを覚えています。
5歳か6歳くらいだったと思います。私にとっては普通のことでした」
とカースティ。
滞在後、キャサリン妃は個人的な声明を発表：
「今日私は、いかに依存症が多くの社会問題の核心にあり、薬物乱用がいかに弱い立場の人々の生活に破壊的な影響をもたらすかを思い知らされました。
人生の早期段階での介入失敗が、
メンタルヘルスの問題やその他の課題に取り組むために
生涯を通じて人々に深刻な結果をもたらす可能性があることを、今日改めて目の当たりにしました」。
