発表を受けて
『a visit to a London Scouts Group』
this morning
to join the 12th Northolt Scouts in London,
to thank them and all Scouts volunteers for supporting young people during lockdown.
またまたキャサリン妃登場！

まず
キャサリン妃が、
英国スカウト協会の共同プレジデント
となられてことが発表された。
これまでは、ケント公爵がお一人で。
そこにキャサリン妃が加わられた、という形。
それだけ由緒ある
巨大かつ責任の重い組織ということですねえ。
ケント公もまだまだお若いし
キャサリン妃に受け継ぐまでご教授、でしょう。
それだけに
これはすごいことのよう。
発表を受けて、キャサリン妃からのメッセージ
「多くの子供達や若者たちが人生において必要な人間関係の構築やスキルを磨くということに関して、協会が重要な役割を担っています。私が8年前、アングルシーのスカウトでボランティアをした際、この組織がいかに若者たちを鼓舞し、地域社会をサポートし、また目標達成という多大な影響を与えているかを知り、感動を覚えました。協会のプレジデントとして、ケント公爵とともに支援ができることを大変嬉しく思っています。そして、私達の社会にポジティブな変化をもたらせるよう、国内中のスカウトたちと一緒に活動ができることを楽しみにしています。」
一方、スカウト協会からは
「これまでの8年間、様々な方法でスカウトを支援して頂いたケンブリッジ公爵夫人が、この由緒ある役割を承諾して頂きました。113年の歴史の中で、キャサリン妃がこのポストに就かれた初めての女性となります。」
なんと、113年の歴史で
初めて女性が総裁に、です。
それがキャサリン妃！
嬉しいでしょうねえ〜〜、きっと。
なんだか
地道な行動とか、努力とかがこうやって身を結んだ感
結婚して、ロイヤルメンバーになったからって、
勝手に与えられるものじゃあないんだねえ
ということを実感する。
名前や敬称が
全てを象徴はしてないのよね。
結局どう行動するか、だ。
思い返せば、子供の頃にブラウニーだったキャサリン妃
ウィリアム王子とご結婚後
新婚生活の地ウェールズはアングルシーで、
プライベートでボランティアをされてたキャサリン妃。
ロンドンに拠点を移されてからも、
公務でスカウトをサポート
2013年、キャサリン妃効果で
英国中で
ボランティアのスカウトに
2800人が登録に押し寄せた。
私の中で最も残っているのは、
ジョージ王子を妊娠中、大きなお腹で大雪の中
スカウト活動に参加された時
地道にやってることって
誰か見てますね〜
って気分です。
一歩づつ着実に、
誰もが認める形で、こうしてポジションを得ていかれるキャサリン妃に、
なんだか感動
ケント公も認めていらっしゃるということの証ですね。
そんな、ケント公とは
”オール・イングランド・ローン・テニス＆クロケット・クラブ”
でもご一緒ですしね。
公爵はプレジデント、
キャサリン妃はパトロンです。
そんなおめでたい発表の後、
すぐに関連の現場へ！
これもキャサリン妃の
ロンドンにある、
“12th Northolt Scouts”
をご訪問。
ロックダウン中、
ボランティアのスカウトたちが若者をサポートしてくれたことに
感謝の意を表された模様
滞在中は
ケアホームに贈るカードを作ったり、
紙でヘリコプターを作ったりといったアートワークにも参加。
一体感や激励、優しさを伝えるプロジェクトとして
スカウト協会が立ち上げたものだそうですが、
ロックダウンを含めこれまでの約半年、
若者たち〜高齢者たちへ支援を行なってこられたのだそう。
素敵だわ、、、
隔離状態の中、子供達から手作りカードが届いたら元気でる！！
アウトドアのアクティビティも。
焚き火でマシュマロをトーストされながら
小さなスカウト達に、
「楽しんでる？いくつマシュマロ食べたの？」
と質問。
子供達の答えが、たった一つ、と聞いて、
「オーマイグッドネス！なんて自制ができてるの！
バッグに一つしか入っていないから？」
納得できないキャサリン妃（笑）
もちろん、この日のファッションは、
アウトドアスタイル！
上品なブルーのシャツは朝素材！
ニューアイテムで、

ダークカラーにレザー＆ブーツと
重めコーデに軽さがプラス。
パンツは以前から愛用のスキニー

最近出番多いねえ。

これに合わせて、ファッションが決められたのでしょう。
そして注目

が、やはり

ちゃんと、洋服に合わせて
カジュアルでブルー系に合う色・柄に！
さすがでございます。
また殺到しちゃうねえ、、在庫あれば。
チラッとしか見えなかったけど。
なぜか到着時のみ。。
会話の時は、無し
という日本人には、
「逆じゃない？！」
と思うよねえ？？
これで、誰も感染しないのなら
マスクなくても大丈夫なわけ？？とか思っちゃうわ、、、

"HRH the Duchess of Cambridge, who has helped Scouts in so many ways over the last eight years, has now kindly agreed to take on this historic role and is the first woman to hold the post in the movement's 113-year history.

'The Duchess follows in the footsteps of three royal Presidents, including HRH Prince Arthur, The Duke of Connaught (third son of Queen Victoria and President from 1913 to 1942). The Duke attended Scout events including the Scout Exhibition and Rally (1913) and opened the 1929 World Scout Jamboree.
HRH Prince Henry, The Duke of Gloucester took over as President in 1942 and made his address to the Movement in December of that year, acknowledging the crucial role of Scouts in the Home Front during the Second World War. '

When they replied one, she remarked: "Oh my goodness, that's so controlled of you. Is that because there's only one in your bag?'
