”プリンス オブ ウェールズ"の称号授与
50年を記念し
エリザベス女王による
レセプションが開催された。
1958年7月、
チャールズ皇太子が9歳の時に
”プリンス オブ ウェールズ"に叙され
それから
11年後の
1969年7月1日に
ウェールズのカーナーヴォン城にて
戴冠式が執り行われた。
なんとこの当日、
ウェールズの過激派によって
式が損なわれたとか。。。
知らなかった、、、
女王を筆頭に

ハリー王子＆メーガン妃
アン王女
マーガレット王女のお子様達、

が出席された。
それから、まさか
こんなに長く、皇太子が続くとは、、、
知る由も、、、、ですねえ
2017年に
歴史上、最高齢の
”プリンス・オブ・ウェールズ”
となられ、ガンガン更新中w
ご長命のはずだから、
まだまだ国王としての地位も
経験されるはず、、、と願う。
ところで、
ケンブリッジ公爵夫妻＆サセックス公爵夫妻の
ファブ４が久々に揃って登場！！
実に
昨年のクリスマス以来でした！！
2018年5月の
ご結婚以来
キャサリン妃とメーガン妃が共に出席されたイベントは
8つ。
（数えた人がいた、ありがとう）
最初は、
6月9日：女王の公式バースデー
そして翌月の、
ルイ王子の洗礼式と
7月には頻繁に。
そこから10月の、ユージェニー王女の結婚式
あたりから、良からぬ噂が、、、、
キャサリン妃＆メーガン妃の仲に関しては
さほど、気にしないのだが
私の懸念は
ご兄弟の方！
この日も、一瞬
ウィリアム王子とハリー王子が
目も合わせてない？？
と思いドキドキしたけれど
ちゃんと会話も！
ほっつ
では
話題の
プリンセスお二人のFASHION〜〜！！！
やはり明確な違いが表れてて面白い。。
キャサリン妃は
ブルーのクラシックなミディ丈ドレス
メーガン妃は、コートにブロケードのミニドレス
パレス内ということで
キャサリン妃がミディ丈のドレスを選ばれたのは納得だけれど
メーガン妃のコートは？？？
でも、ソフトな素材感なので
室内もあり得る範囲かなあ、、、
中のドレスはきっとノースリーブなのでしょう。
それにしてもミニだねえ〜
それもビックリ。
キャサリン妃のドレスは、
お友達ブランド《Beulah London》の”Sabitri dress”と似てる？
と思いきや、違うらしい、、、、
パレスの発表によれば
”キャサリン妃のプライベートのドレスメーカーによるカスタムメイド”
だとか。
これまでにも何度か、
ドレスメーカー作のお洋服をお召しになっていますが、
一体誰？？、は謎のまま
メーガン妃のコートは、何度も愛用されている着回しで
メーガン妃も、英国らしい
着回し＝倹約家
を取り入れられている模様。。
ま、そもそも、洋服いっぱい要るので、
毎回買う、というのも、、
むしろ大変かもしれません、、、
そして注目は
やはり女王スタイル！

The event marked the perfect occasion to celebrate the milestone with Her Majesty, Camilla, William and Kate, Harry and Meghan and Princess Anne. Princess Margaret's children the Earl of Snowdon and Lady Sarah Chatto were also present. The reception marked Charles' decades of service to the UK and Commonwealth and an an opportunity to celebrate with a range of Welsh charities, organisations and businesses.
Prince Charles was created Prince of Wales aged 9 on July 26th 1958 and was formally invested with the title by the Queen on July 1st 1969 at Caernarfon Castle. Before the Investiture, Charles spent a term at the University College of Wales at Aberystwyth, learning to speak Welsh.
During the Investiture ceremony, after Prince Charles had the coronet and robes placed on him, he pledged his allegiance to The Queen with the words: ‘I, Charles, Prince of Wales do become your liege man of life and limb’.
Guests included leading figures in Welsh and UK public life, as well as representatives from the Prince of Wales’s many Welsh charities and patronages, including The Prince’s Trust Cymru, Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod and the BBC National Orchestra & Chorus of Wales

Meghan replied: 'I look rather different than the last time you saw me', she joked gesturing at her bump. 'Yes it's sweet, we're nearly there', Meghan added

'Guests at the reception included members of the band The Stereophonics, who were supported in their early days by a grant from the Prince’s Trust. Kelly Jones, the singer and lead guitarist, said:
“We applied for a couple of grants from the Prince’s Trust. We needed some money for some speakers. Prince Charles came down to Pontypridd, and we met him. We had some funding from them. It was lovely to meet him, and nice to get some speakers.'
“It was the first time we could afford to buy some speakers. My dad was a singer, so I stole a lot of his equipment. I think they gave us one grant for 500 quid and one for 800 quid. At that time it was a lot of money for us.'

Items included the Investiture Coronet, Sword, Ring and Rod, as well as the Letters Patent for the creation of Charles, Duke of Cornwall as Prince of Wales in 1958.

The Investiture Coronet was designed by the architect and goldsmith Louis Osman (1914-1996) and given to The Queen by the Goldsmith’s Company for The Prince of Wales’s Investiture. The Royal Collection Trust shares more information: "It is 24 carat gold, with the 4 Crosses Patées and the 4 fleur-de-Lys made from a nugget of Welsh gold, reinforced with platinum and decorated with diamonds and emeralds. The orb mounted on the top of the arch was engraved by Malcolm Appleby with The Prince of Wales’s insignia. This is surrounded by 13 diamonds arranged as the constellation of Scorpio, The Prince of Wales’s star sign. The diamonds set horizontally represent the 7 Gifts of God on one side and the 7 deadly sins on the other."

How Prince Charles' 1969 investiture was marred by hostility from Welsh extremists
Charles was just nine years old when he was created the Prince of Wales when on 26 July 1958.
He was formally invested with the title by the Queen 11 years later on 1 July 1969 at Caernarfon Castle when he was 20.
The investiture was televised and watched by an audience of 19 million people in the UK, and millions more worldwide.
Princess Margaret's then husband the Earl of Snowdon was responsible for the design of the ceremony at the castle in north Wales.
A fresh-faced Charles – who is now the longest-serving Prince of Wales and heir apparent – knelt before the Queen to receive the insignia of office and pledge allegiance.
While the prince was saluted by cheering crowds showing their loyalty and affection, he also faced hostility from Welsh extremists who attempted to mar the investiture with bomb attacks.

The day had started with news that two men had died in a gelignite explosion at Abergele, 15 miles from the castle. One of the men was tattooed on his chest and back with 'Free Wales Army'.
Then a bomb blast at railway sidings rattled windows in the centre of Caernarfon 10 minutes after the arrival of the train carrying the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, Charles and other members of the royal family.
A bomb in a suitcase, marked with the initials 'FWA', was later found on the road to Holyhead taken by the prince after the ceremony.
Then in the early hours of July 2, a soldier died when an explosion wrecked an Army van only yards from the castle.
Charles's 50th anniversary – his golden jubilee as the Prince of Wales – will be very different to his silver jubilee in 1994.
The 25th anniversary of his investiture came in the midst of the War of the Waleses, and just days after the screening of the controversial television documentary in which Charles admitted he had been unfaithful to Diana, Princess of Wales after their marriage had broken down.

The gold coronet, placed on Prince Charles’s head at Caernarfon Castle by his mother in 1969, will be displayed at the celebration attended by all senior members of the royal family today.
But the coronet, designed by celebrated goldsmith Louis Osman, hides an astonishing secret which makes it rather unique among the monarch’s crown jewels.
The orb in its centre is actually made from a ping pong ball.

Now, for the first time, David Mason, a 74-year-old retired chemical research manager from Warwickshire who made the striking gold circlet, tells the true story of the so-called ‘imposter coronet’ – including how the original design was smashed with just days to go, forcing him to drive with a hastily made replacement in the back of his unguarded Mini van.
Mr Mason was just 28 when he received a call in March 1969 from Mr Osman at his office at Engelhard Industries in Cinderford, then the world’s largest refiner of precious metals.
He wanted to discuss a revolutionary new field Mr Mason was working in - gold electroforming - and revealed he had been asked to produce a headpiece for Charles’s investiture as Prince of Wales.

Apparently the existing coronet, last used by the future Edward VIII, had always been worn over a wig, but when Charles tried it on without one, it had slipped down over his head.
The prince apparently told Mr Osman that he wanted a new oval design to fit ‘a modern young man with a modern haircut and whose ears show’.
