in the Bahamian capital of Nassau 

昨晩到着され、
首相夫妻にお会いになったお二人だったが、
その後、首相、ファーストレディは、それぞれこんなコメントを。

温度差を感じますね、、
とはいえ、お互いのたちばとしては、これしか無理でもあるが、、

Prime Minister Philip Brave Davis. Afterwards, the PM said: 
"This visit to the Bahamas presents an opportunity to highlight the urgent need to combat climate change and to celebrate our Bahamian culture. I wish that you extend my congratulations to the Queen; having attained this milestone, I don’t think we will see it again, not anytime soon." 
The First Lady Anne-Marie said William and Kate told her they were looking forward to the visit and "swimming and diving".

The Duchess of Cambridge has offered words of encouragement to pupils in the Bahamas, as she addressed the impact of coronavirus on education. Speaking at an assembly at the Sybil Strachan Primary School in Nassau, she said: "You have a wonderful proverb in your country - 'When the moon is not full the stars shine more brightly'. I see all of you as the stars of this country." Kate also spoke of her hope that her children George, Charlotte and Louis, who "love being by the sea", would be able to visit the country in the future.

So please look after them, cherish them and take time for them. And be kind, understanding and loving to yourself and others." Kate noted children growing up in the Bahamas "are very lucky"

'As she thanked the Bahamas for giving them such a warm welcome and saying she wished she could visit all 700 islands during their stay, Kate added: "Our three children, George, Charlotte and Louis, all love being by the sea, so I hope they will be able to experience your clear waters and beautiful beaches before too long.

"However, as much as you have these natural wonders to enjoy, I know that the last few years have not been easy for many of you.

"I also wanted today to say a big thank you to your parents, guardians and teachers. They, I am sure, have found the pandemic hard too, but they are doing one of the most important jobs out there.

"Nurturing your young minds and helping to shape your futures."

'"One of the hardest things that we have all found about the pandemic was being separated from the people we love," she said. "But we have also had the chance to rediscover just how important our families are, and just how important our friends are too."

"I always think it is the simple things in life that bring us the most joy: Playing together, chatting to your friends at school, eating meals together, and listening to each other's stories. These are the things that bring us together and give meaning to our lives."

『sailing at Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee Regatta』

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge braved torrential downpours in the Bahamas to take part in the Platinum Jubilee Sailing Regatta in Montagu Bay

one of the first sailing regattas in The Bahamas since the start of the pandemic

The sailing regatta in The Bahamas went ahead today despite the choppy water and rainy weather 

Racing against one another, William set sail in an iconic Bahamian sloop named the Susan Chase, whilst Kate boarded a vessel named the Ants Nest II

raced against each other in the choppy waters. William's boat came in about five minutes ahead of four others including one featuring the Duchess of Cambridge, who suffered the ignominy of coming in last with her crew

It was a second consecutive victory for William, who beat his wife in the King's Cup charity regatta off the Isle of Wight in 2019 when they last raced on the water. On that occasion her boat was disqualified. Kate triumphed when the ultra competitive couple raced yachts in New Zealand in 2014

Prince William has signalled that any decision by Jamaica, Belize and the Bahamas to break away from the British monarchy and become republics, will be supported with "pride and respect" by the UK. Speaking during the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's Caribbean tour which took in the three nations, Prince William told guests at a dinner that whatever the future holds, the bonds between the UK and the nations will "endure".

Prince William signalled that any decision by Jamaica, Belize and The Bahamas to break away from the British monarchy and become republics will be supported with 'pride and respect' in a landmark speech alongside his wife Kate at a glittering state reception.
