ロンドン 〜 チェシャー州のランコーン駅
までは2時間位だそうですが
ロイヤルトレインは、
速度が遅いため
とっても時間がかかるそう。
エリザベス 女王のご希望で
早く起きて移動をするより
ゆっくり一泊されての旅を好魔れるのだそう。
その旅の同行者として
白羽の矢が当たったのが
なんとメーガン妃！
ウィリアム王子＆ハリー王子も未経験の列車での公務旅
もちろんキャサリン妃も。
結婚からまだ1ヶ月、、、
もし私なら、、、と考えるだけで倒れそうな話ですが
さすがメーガン妃
とっても良い感じの関係が築けているご様子。

It is only used a handful of time a year by Her Majesty, who prefers to use it on long-distance journeys, and it is usually reserved for senior royals, so Meghan is in for a treat
The nine-carriage Royal Train feature bedrooms with en-suites and a 12-seater dining room and it is understood even Prince Harry and the Duchess of Cambridge have not had the honour of riding the Royal Train for official duties.
Royal Family members are said to have travelled on the train 14 times.
The trips cost taxpayers a total of £900,000

The next stop was to Storyhouse, an arts centre and community centre in Chester, which holds a library, theatre and cinema and runs over 2,000 activities per year for local communities. Whilst there, The Queen and The Duchess visited the children's library and watched a performance by ‘Fallen Angels’, a dance theatre company for people in recovery from addiction.

'Her Majesty's personal saloon is 75ft long and fitted with secondary air suspension giving passengers an exceptionally smooth and comfortable ride. It has a bedroom, decorated in light pastel shades, with a 3ft-wide single bed in one corner (there are no double beds on the Royal Train) made up with cotton sheets and woollen blankets.
While Prince Philip's pillows are plain, the Queen's are trimmed with lace, with a small Royal cipher in one corner. The ceiling has subdued strip lighting and there are several reading lamps near the bed. The adjoining bathroom has a full-size bath, but the fittings are modest and functional. The train operators make sure the carriages are not crossing any bumpy points just after 7.30am: that could make the water slop around when the Queen is taking her bath. The train's speed is always lower than the normal maximum for any route.
The sitting room has a sofa with hand-stitched velvet cushions, armchairs and the small dining table where the Queen and Prince Philip have breakfast. The table can be extended to seat six people. There is also a desk in one corner where Her Majesty works on her official papers. Buckingham Palace officials admit it is expensive, but say the Queen, 92, finds it more comfortable to use on overnight on long-distance journeys.'

After arriving together by Royal Train, The Queen and The Duchess travelled to Mersey Gateway Bridge which links the towns of Runcorn and Widnes in Halton, Cheshire across the River Mersey. Her Majesty and Her Royal Highness met architects, planners and community representatives involved in the concept, design and build of the bridge before The Queen unveiled a plaque to mark the official opening.
