先日のインタビューコメント
第2弾！！

 王族の方々にとって
毎年恒例の
サンドリンガムで過ごす
クリスマス☆

もちろん、
エリザベス女王がここでお過ごしだから。

そして、
ロイヤルももちろん
プレゼント交換があり。

キャサリン妃にとって
ロイヤルとして
最初のクリスマスとなったのが
2011年
さて、その時
クイーンへのプレゼントは何にされたのでしょう？？

そんな告白も
今週末にOAのドキュメンタリー内
インタビューで 告白されているらしい。

買うのではなく
手作り （ホームメード）にされた。

キャサリン妃のお婆様のレシピで作った
 チヤツネ
だったとか。


"She (the Queen) really cares," she said. 
"I can remember being at Sandringham, for the first time, at Christmas. And I was worried what to give the Queen as her Christmas present. 
 I was thinking, 'Gosh, what should I give her?'

"I thought back to what I would give my own grandparents. And I thought, 'I'll make her something.' Which could have gone horribly wrong. But I decided to make my granny's recipe of chutney."

She added: "I was slightly worried about it, but I noticed the next day that it was on the table.

"I think such a simple gesture went such a long way for me and I've noticed since she's done that on lots of occasions and I think it just shows her thoughtfulness, really, and her care in looking after everybody."


恐らく、そのチヤツネは、
ミドルトン家に
伝えられているらしいペポカボチャのチヤツネとみられている。
(a marrow chutney)
数時間かかるそう。

2012年に出版したピッパさんのパーティ本
"Celebrate"
その中に
 “Granny’s Marrow Chutney”.
があるらしい。
説得力あり。
これでしょうね。
 
キャサリン妃の口からは
どちらの祖母か、明らかにはされていないが
予想されるのは、やはり
母方、ドロシーさん。

クックの娘さんだというし、キャロルさんもお得意そう。
ピッパさん本のレシピもキャロルさん譲りでしょう。

この中にレシピが掲載されてるらしい。
“Granny’s Marrow Chutney”

 "This is my granny's recipe which has been passed down the family. It's a great way of using up very big marrows, but use large courgettes if you prefer, or experiment with different fruits and vegetables following the same principles."

大きな
ペポカボチャか、ズッキーニを

使用するのがポイントだそう。

The Middleton family chutney recipe, 
according to Pippa's book Celebrate:

"Granny's Marrow Chutney"
makes 8 x 350g jars

1.8kg marrows, peeled, deseeded and chopped into small chunks

4 medium onions, peeled and chopped into small chunks

3 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped into small chunks

225g sultanas or raisins

225g stones dates, roughly chopped

600ml malt vinegar

900g soft brown sugar

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons ground ginger

2 tablespoons mixed pickling spices, secured in a piece of muslin

• Put the chopped marrow, onions and apples into a large preserving pan, add the rest of the ingredients and the bag of spices and stir together , then place over a medium heat.
• Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat and simmer gently for 1 1/2 - 2 hours or until well blended and thick.
• Take the pan off the heat, cool and remove the muslin, squeezing half the liquid from the bag.
• Spoon into sterilised jars with vinegar-proof lids, filling them to within 1cm of the top.
• Ensure the rims are clean, screw on the sterilised lids and store in a cool place for up to 12 months.
• Once open, store in the fridge and use withing 1 month.

ロンドンのレストランで
ディナーを楽しまれたクイーン

ところで注目なのは、
お抱えシェフもいらっしゃる
クイーンにとって
過去滅多にレストランへ行かれることなどないんですね～～
 
プライベート・メンバーズ・クラブや、
@ Ritz
Heston Blumenthal  @ Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park
などの、ホテル
そして、パリ
@ Caviar Kaspia in Paris
と数少ない、
限られた場所のみ。

そんな中、
ロンドンで 
唯一、唯2ともいえるほど、レアな 
、クイーンが行かれたレストラン！
ということになるらしい。

 あと、
80才のお誕生日のパーティも
ここ、 @ Bellamy's
で催されたらしい。

その際のホストは、
クイーンマザーの御付きの方
former lady-in-waiting Lady Penn さん
 だったとか。
 
もちろん、
Bellamy's  ではノーコメントですが、
前回、クイーンがお召し上がりになったお食事は
 Smoked Eel Mouse with 25g of Sevruga Caviar followed by Roast Quail 
 だと言われている。

The brasserie set up in 2004 by Gavin Rankin serves Franco Belgian cuisine and the menu focuses heavily on meat, fish and game as well as caviar

とにかく、次のクルーズは
英国で盛り上がること間違いなし！
嬉しい♡

行きたいな～

仏クチュールブランド《Dior》は、
 この有名な由緒ある大邸宅と
歴史的な繋がりも。

1954年に
ここをステージとしてファッションショーを開催している。

その時のホスト役は
もちろん
当時の女主人：マルボロー公爵夫人
主賓として、
 マーガレット王女も出席された。
（かねてから、王女はディオールをご愛用）
 
ディオール自身は
パリからイングランドへ
モデル14人と、
100着ものクチュールアイテム
と共に移動

 その中には
'la robe Blenheim'
と名付けられた
この日の為にデザインされた
”ピンク・サテン・イブニング・ガウン” も
♡

招待客含め
約2000人が集まったそうな。。
想像するだけでスゴイ
まさに、豪華絢爛
本来、ファッションショーとは、そういうものだった・・・・はず。
今はさあ～～～！
なんて年寄りっぽいグチはヤメ (笑)

1- Two Christian Dior shows were presented there

The palace has already played host to Christian Dior shows in the past, presenting two collections there in 1954 and in 1958 under the helm of Christian Dior’s successor, Yves Saint Laurent. By choosing to return to the venue for the 2017 Cruise collection, the design studio at Dior are paying homage to the unforgettable creative directors.

3- It is classed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site

The palace has been classified as a UNESCO world heritage site since 1987. Its typically English baroque architecture designed by John Vanbrugh as well as its romantic park devised by landscaper Brown make Blenheim palace a British heritage hotspot, visited by thousands of curious tourists each year.

4- It is not owned by the British royalty

Constructed between 1705 and 1722, Blenheim Palace is the largest non-royal private home in England. It is also the only non-royal country estate with the title of a ‘palace’.

5- It has forged its way into cinematic history

Blenheim Palace is a popular location for filmmakers, featuring in well-known films such as Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007), The Young Victoria (2009), Mission Impossible 5 (2015) and even Spectre, the latest James Bond film (2016).
