キャサリン妃＆ウィリアム皇太子ご夫妻が、4月29日と30日の2日間の日程で、スコットランドの諸島を訪問！思えば、キャサリン妃のご病気以来、泊まりでのご公務は初めてです。
加えて、4月29日といえば結婚記念日！はや、というのか、もう、というのか14周年を迎えられました。
そもそもスコットランドは、ご夫妻の出会いの場セント・アンドルーズ大学があるところで、2日間で訪問されたスコットランド諸島、マル島とアイオナ島の一つ、マル島には大学時代のお二人が友人達と共に滞在されたこともある場所なんです。
そんな思い出深き地域を訪問された目的は、島々の地域社会と素晴らしい自然環境にスポットを当てること。
というわけで、ご夫妻が最初に訪れたのが、カラフルな海岸線沿いの街、トバモーリ。
新たにリニューアルしたコミュニティ・センター“Aros Hall”を視察され、お二人がそれぞれ壁画に筆を加えられたり、看板作りを手伝うべくキャサリン妃が釘打ち機を持ってのお手伝いも。
続いて、職人やアーティスト達の手作り作品が並ぶマーケットの視察。職人達との交流に加え、地元の農産物を試食された皇太子ご夫妻。
更に、マル島の活気ある観光と農産業にフォーカスするべく、農地も訪問されたお二人でした。
翌日の2日目は、マル島とアイオナ島で、自然に焦点を当てた内容の一日に。
古代大西洋の熱帯雨林、マル島のアードゥラ・コミュニティ・フォレストからスタートし、自然保護活動や生物多様性の保護について学ばれたあとは、キャサリン妃の肝入り、早期教育や野外学習にフォーカスするべく、0〜5歳児を対象としたアウトドアプレイのグループに参加し、自然遊歩道や巣穴作り、絵本の読み聞かせなどをしつつ子供達とも交流。
その後は公共のフェリーに乗って、人口170人の小さな島、アイオナへ。
島の豊かな遺産についての見識を深めるとともに、島での生活における独特な課題や、地域社会が団結と目的を共有することで繁栄し続ける方法について学ばれました。
記念すべき、スコットランドでのファッションは、正直私が期待したものとは異なりましたが、公務内容からすると当然！のアウトドアスタイル。
ご夫妻で、チェックやヘリンボーンといったスコットランドにピッタリなジャケットでリンクした、シックなアウトドアスタイルのカップルコーデ。
ウィリアム皇太子のジャケットが春仕様で、キャサリン妃のものが冬物？に感じるのは、男女の肌感覚の違い、ということにするとして(笑)、定番スタイルの皇太子に対して、キャサリン妃の方がアウトドア感満載なスタイルだったことが印象的でした。
キャサリン妃のジャケットは、両日ともにニューアイテム。トラッドテイストで英国調。一生活躍してくれそうな、間違いのないチョイスといったところ。
インナーには、1日目がシャンブレーのシャツで2日目がフリルのコットンブラウスと、シンプルカジュアルと、甘辛ミックスコーデとニュアンスを変えらえたところが、さすが着こなし上手な皇太子妃ですね。
パンツは、今も昔も大好きなスキニー。
靴は長年の愛用ショートブーツを、両日履きまわし。
ピアスを、初日は爽やかなブルートパーズ(新)、フリルブラウスの2日目にはガーネットのチャームと、トップスのテイストに合わせて色を選ばれているところが、流石です！
では、それ以外にこの日私が注目した、4つのポイント！です
①結婚記念日に公務
先週、お子様たちの学校がイースター休暇から再開。その間、ムスティク島やフランスでのスキー場での目撃など、ホリデーを楽しまれた皇太子ご一家。現時点ではなお、お子様達の学校のスケジュールを優先されていることがうかがえるご夫妻ですが、休んだ後にはお仕事。それゆえに結婚記念日も公務をアピール？！なんて一見思うも、おそらくは結婚記念日に夫婦の画像を公開することよりも、注目を集めたい事項が、この日のお仕事内容だったのではないか、と察した次第です。
お子様達のバースデー画像は公開せざるを得ないけれど、ご自分たちの記念日に関しては、国民の有益になる何かを、とお考えになっているように感じてなりません。
②ラブラブ全開
画像は出さずとも、国民の目の前でこの日ラブラブぶりが止まらなかった皇太子ご夫妻。
終始、お互いを支え合うかのごとく手を添えたりと、ボディタッチの嵐でございました。
ケンジントンパレスから公開されたこの画像が、何より象徴していますよね。
そして実は1日目の夜、皇太子ご夫妻はコテージを借り、久々にお二人だけで水入らずの時間を過ごされたとも言われています♡
③ネックレスは、お子様達のイニシャル入りを着用！
久々の夫婦での時間、、といえども、やはり仲良しご家族！我が子は常に側に、、とばかりに、キャサリン妃の首元に着けられた２つのネックレスは、どちらも3人のお子様達のイニシャルが入ったものをチョイス！
どちらも、以前からお持ちの物ですが、２つ着けは初めて。キャサリン妃らしさが感じられる思いです。
最後は、この日披露された初のニューヘア！
④ブロンドヘアに変身！
キャサリン妃といえば、リッチな艶感がブルネットが地毛。とはいえ、これまでにも幾度となく髪の色をライトにされたことはありますが、今回ほどにライトな色は初！
前回登場の3月と比較すると、大違いですね！
ブロンズに近い、ゴールドのような色に大変身しました。
気分的なものなのか、それとも季節的に軽めにされた？もしくは、肌色を明るく見せて健康的な印象に、、という観点からかも？などと推測。
現に、色を軽くされたことで、毛量や長さのあるキャサリン妃の印象はガラリと変わり、季節的にも、夏に向けてピッタリとも。
また、昨今シックな色やスタイルが多くなっているキャサリン妃ゆえに、ヘアは明るめの方が洗練された印象にもなりますね。
現に今回のアウトドアスタイルの場合にも、これまでよりも垢抜けた感。。
というわけで、私は今回のキャサリン妃のゴールデンカラーに賛成ですが、皆さんはいかがですか？
一方で、そろそろ華やかファッションにも期待したい私です、、。

visit to the Isle of Mull
The visit began in the colorful coastal town of Tobermory. The couple toured Aros Hall, a community hub with a food-saving fridge and play area, joining locals to build a kitchen cabinet and paint a mural
A stroll through an artisan market allowed them to sample local produce and connect with craftspeople, with over 200 well-wishers greeting them to the sound of bagpipes.

Their Royal Foundation announced partnerships to support Aros Hall and Pennyghael Community Hall, reinforcing community spaces vital for local connection.

The day began at Ardura Community Forest on Mull, an ancient Atlantic rainforest. The couple met Countryside Rangers from the Mull and Iona Ranger Service, learning about conservation efforts and biodiversity protection

The community forest has been central to the way of life for generations of Mull families and is named in Gaelic as Doir a’Chuilinn, or holly grove. It dates back to medieval times and the oldest current known tree, a holly, is 300 years old
