夫妻揃っての、日帰り公務

3日後の、3月1日

『St David’s Day🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿』

（ウェールズの守護聖人：聖デイヴィッドの命日）

に先駆け、

ウィリアム皇太子＆キャサリン妃が

南ウェールズの

ポンティプリッドを訪問！

ウェールズといえば、

ウィリアム皇太子が、アングルシーで

パイロット（RAF search and rescue pilot）として勤務されていたり

キャサリン妃とのご結婚後、新婚生活が始まった場所で

ジョージ王子誕生まで暮らしていらしたりと

お二人にとっては、想い出の土地❤️

しかも現在は、皇太子夫妻

（プリンス＆プリンセス・オブ・ウェールズ）

となられ、ますますご夫妻にとって、重要な場所に。

ウィリアム皇太子は、

チャールズ国王同様に

ウェールズ語を勉強中であることを、以前明かされてもいました。

ちなみに、最後に🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿ウェールズを訪問されたのが

2023年と、お久しぶりです。

この日は、なんと電車での移動！！

しかも、首都カーディフ駅への到着が、

1時間近くも遅れたというから、なんとも英国らしい

最初の訪問先は、ポンティプリッド・マーケット

地域社会の中心的な場所で

八百屋やお肉屋さん、カフェ、本屋、おもちゃ屋さんなど

様々なビジネスが共存

また、ポンティプリッドは、

昨年11月、わずか2週間の間に、2度も

ストームバートとストームダラーが襲い

それによる大洪水に見舞われた地域でもあり、

皇太子ご夫妻は、被災した地元の人々達からヒアリングも。

さらに、お二人は、

マーケットにて、この地の伝統的お菓子：ウェルシュケーキ作りにも挑戦

私も超大好き❤️

慣れた手つきで生地をのばしていくキャサリン妃に対し

内心緊張しつつも、結果まずまずだった模様の皇太子

完成したウェルシュケーキを、

集まっていた子供達へ配られました。

この時、気になったのが、

この日は、さすがにダイアナ妃の婚約指輪こそ着用されていなかったが

サファイア＆ダイヤモンドのエタニティリングは着用したまま

それでの、ケーキ作りは、いいのか、、、？！

と、余計な心配したりw

また、夫妻のラブラブぶりも健在❤️

ボディタッチが多いし

帰りには、なんとても繋いでいらした！！！❤️

沿道の人たちとの交流の後、

そこから次の訪問先

『Meadow Street Community Garden and Woodland』

コミュニティ・ガーデン＆ウッドランド

では、自然を生かしながら

地域の人々が集まれる場所になれるよう、

ボランティア達を含め活動をしている。

若者達との会話の中で

プラムのジャムを作っていると聞いたキャサリン妃が

「私のプラムジャムのレシピを送るので試してみて」

と話されたそう❤️知りたい、、、

この日のキャサリン妃ファッションは〜！

まず、皇太子夫妻で、

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿ウェールズのフラッグカラーの１つ：

バーガンディでリンクコーデ ❤️

キャサリン妃の、ブラウン味のあるバーガンディのタートルと

お隣のウィリアム皇太子も、

ジャケットがブラウンで、中のクルーネックセーターがバーガンディと、

妻のカラーコーデと同じ❤️

胸には、聖デヴィッドデーにちなんで

ウェールズ国花のラッパズイセンもつけられ

ウェールズに敬意を示したスタイル

キャサリン妃は、

《アレキサンダー・マックイーン》の

赤のコートに

（2020年から今回で5度目）

バーガンディのタートル

タータンチェックのスカート

ブーツといった、最近多い赤系コーデ

そして、この日はなんと

シーンに合わせて、ファッションが3変化！！

最初は到着時＆マーケットで

これらのフルコーデ＋新トートバッグ《アスピナル・オブ・ロンドン》

そして、ウェルシュケーキを作る際には

コートを脱ぎ、

タートルネック＋タータンチェックの、単品コーデに。

キルトを思わせるスカートに、ここでもウェールズを意識されていますね。

ちなみにスカートは《グッチ》で

2021年にお召しだったもの。

ガーデン＆ウッドランドでは、なんと

コートからジャケットにお着替え！！！

細かい！！

メドウ・ストリート・コミュニティ・ガーデン＆ウッドランドに到着された際、

赤のコートからカーキのジャケットへ一変！！

グリーンもウェールズのフラッグカラーの１つだし、

今度はアウトドアにも馴染む別の色

ということでイメチェンをされたと思われる。

簡単に着替えられて、その場にマッチして

イメチェンも、、とお見事！

ウィリアム皇太子は、お着替えをされていないけど

最初よりもピッタリになったカップルコーデで、

めっちゃ計算されたことがわかります。

そして、このジャケットというのが、ビックリな代物で〜！！！

このミリタリーテイストのツイードジャケット

《ラルフローレン》の物で

ご結婚前、2007年にチェルトナム競馬場で着用されていたもの

そう、18年前！！！

しかも、この時といえば、、、

お二人の関係が悪化の一途を辿る時期で、

まさにこの直後、お二人は破局

後にも先にも、お二人の間に悪〰️い空気が流れているのは、この時のみ！

一生忘れられないシーンが蘇る、、、

まだ持ってらしたのね、、とそれにもビックリ

私なら、縁起悪い、、と処分しちゃうに違いないw

それはさて置き、

18年経ってもなおご愛用、着回し

というのが素晴らしい！

物持ちの良さを改めて実感するとともに

時代を超えても活躍するアイテムを選ぶ目は確か、ということでもある。

ほぼ全てが着回しアイテムだったというのに、

注目ポイント多し、のキャサリン妃ファッションでした。

今年に入り、公務の再開に

ついにはロンドンから離れた場所への移動もと

お仕事復帰を着々と果たされております。

The Prince and Princess of Wales have arrived in Cardiff for a day of engagements in Wales ahead of St David's Day on March 1

The Princess is a particularly keen home baker, although William has previously admitted he is somewhat hopeless at it

The couple's last visit together was in October 2023, with other planned engagements cancelled because of Kate's shock cancer diagnosis; although they have both visited separately in recent months

Their first public engagement sees them visit Pontypridd Market to meet local business owners and try their hand at making one of the country's most celebrated exports - Welsh cakes

William appeared delighted as he chatted with wellwishers around the market in Wales

William and Kate rolled up their sleeves to make Welsh cakes together - with shop owner Theresa Connor

The couple will tour the food hall during which they will visit The Welsh Cake Shop which has been serving the local population for more than 25 years

Pontypridd Market has been at the heart of the South Wales community since 1805 and is home to business selling everything from meat to fruit and vegetable, toys, books and textiles and boasts several cafes

Both William and his wife beamed as they got stuck into learning how to make the traditional Welsh cakes

The place is also well known for its Bara Brith, a traditional Welsh fruit bread, and delivers both this and Welsh cakes to locations across the UK

『Meadow Street Community Garden and Woodland

in Pontypridd, Wales』

Pontypridd was one of a number of towns across Wales which was hit by severe flooding as a result of Storm Bert and Storm Darragh. The Prince and Princess met with local residents, learning about their experiences and the impact of recent events in the town

Afterwards, William and Kate visited Meadow Street Community Garden and Woodland, which has been designed to create a safe and welcoming place where the local community can come together and enjoy the benefits of nature.

The project to create a community garden was established in January 2021, when work began to clear a site that was overgrown and full of debris from flooding.

Together with Pontypridd Town Council, volunteers rejuvenated the site which is now a vibrant garden and creative space.

As well as promoting the benefits of nature to wellbeing, the community garden works to build resilience within individuals and forge connections between people.

There, the Princess of Wales promised to send her recipe for plum jam to young gardeners.

Kate heard how young volunteers at a community garden in Wales were growing their own plums and turning them into jam, and said:

'I'll send you my plum jam recipe so you can try it.'

She also revealed that she is learning to forage in Norfolk, with her three children left impressed by a 'huge' puffball mushroom she had found near their home.

'The children thought it was fascinating,' she recounted.

The Prince and Princess of Wales were given a tour of the woodland walks and homegrown produce.

The garden, which was badly flooded in 2024 and has bounced back with the help of volunteers, is intended to be a welcoming place for the local community to enjoy nature.

It fits in with one of the Princess's passion projects, encouraging people into the outdoors, with nature activities for children.

The couple laughed as they were shown 'Bug-inham Palace', an insect conservation area, and joined a group round a fire to make balms out of plants.
