a visit to the Team England Futures programme in Birmingham.
The programme is a partnership between SportsAid, of which Kate is Patron, Sport England, and Commonwealth Games England.
Their Royal Highnesses will watch swimming and field hockey events in the Commonwealth Games whilst in Birmingham on Tuesday.
During her visit, Charlotte revealed that her favourite sport is gymnastics.
During her time in Birmingham, she sat with her parents to watch the swimming heats and also watched a hockey match. Charlotte also joined her parents at a SportsAid engagement to learn about a programme preparing the next generation of sportsmen and women for future events

Birmingham Sport shared an insight into their vision for hosting the Games:
"Birmingham 2022 will shine a light on this vibrant corner of the Commonwealth and work to improve health and wellbeing. This is an event that will help the West Midlands to grow and succeed, be a catalyst for change, and foster the spirit of friendship, athleticism and competition. This is a Games for everyone, a level playing field for men and women with a fully integrated para-sports programme, and a huge emphasis on the Commonwealth’s youth. There is no better stage to showcase the world’s most inclusive, fair and progressive multi-sport event."
beginning in 1930. Held every four years, with a hiatus during World War II, the Games have grown from featuring 11 countries and 400 athletes, to a global spectacle of 4,600 sportspeople from across 72 nations and territories

She was also able to update the Team England medal table, adding a bronze for the men's table tennis and a silver for the men's lawn bowls.
Tim Lawler, the chief executive of Sports Aid, said: "I did notice the Duke and the Duchess, as we were trying to do, include Charlotte in the conversations – we were very mindful of that and it was really very evident the Duke and Duchess were doing that to, I suppose, include her and reassure her.
"She was charming, very willing to put the medals on the medal board, and she asked the right question, which was,'Where exactly should I put this?' It was by date and she checked.

A dad who was travelling on a train to the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham
Matthew Syed, a former Commonwealth Gold-winning table tennis player, had been on the train to Birmingham with his son Ted.
Mr Syed, who is now a journalist and columnist with The Times, says he and his son had been minutes from their stop for the Games when he decided to use the bathroom - and asked Ted to wait for him outside.
In his column in The Times today, he says as he used the facilities, he could hear a lady outside asking his son if he was on the train alone, before Ted replied "No my dad is there" - pointing to the toilet.
He recalls how as he washed his hands, he could hear his son and the lady striking up a conversation with the boy showing the woman his father's gold medal before leaving the bathroom.
He writes: "'Come on Ted,' I say, 'we have to get off!' 'Oh, and thanks for keeping him company . . . ” I say turning to the woman waiting her turn when I am stopped in my tracks. My brow furrows, my face works. “Kate?”, I blurt out. There are no security guards in the vestibule; no armed guards. But here is the Duchess of Cambridge, chatting merrily with my son."
When they finally got off the train the former sportsman says he asked his son if he knew who he'd been chatting to, but he says Ted said he had no idea although she was "really nice".
And Mr Syed added: "The Duchess had no idea she was chatting to the son of a journalist so I take this to reflect her character and sense of duty. The monarchy is in consummate hands."
