a brief look at the state of play for this year's tournament. 'Prince of Tennis' Roger Federer will not be taking to this grass this year due to knee surgery recovery. Following a return to action after injury, Rafa Nadal has been playing some of the best tennis of his career. 2022 has seen him win two Grand Slams -- the Australian Open and French Open. Will his success translate to the grass surface which he finds most challenging? In women's tennis, Tatjana Maria and Julie Niemeier, and Maria Bouzková and Ons Jabeur face off today
You'll notice the absence of British names Andy Murray and Emma Radacanu.
They both lost their second round matches last week, however Cameron Norrie made it to the quarters and played today.

The Duke of Cambridge was spotted by eagle-eyed viewers duringBritish No1 Cameron Norrie's quarter-final clash saying: "No, no, no, f***' in the Court One crowd.
The royal, 40, is a major sports fan and appeared to get caught up in the moment as the 26-year-old star lost a point to Belgian David Goffin on Tuesday evening.
As Norrie was seen wheeling away in frustration after slipping up in his own service game, the BBC coverage cut to an equally annoyed Duke.
He shook his head from side to side before seemingly uttering the expletive as he straightened his tie.
One person wrote: "Can't be unseen! So glad he's human."
Another said: "Good to see some feelings."
Some pointed out that he may well have been saying "for goodness sake" as the camera cuts away quite rapidly - though most were not convinced
South Africa-born Norrie dug deep to come from behind and eventually beat his opponent and set up a semi-final meeting with World No3 Novak Djokovic.
Asked if he thinks he can beat the former world No1, Norrie said: “For sure. I’m looking forward to taking it to him and seeing the level he brings.”
But after struggling for large parts of his three-and-a-half hour contest against the unseeded Goffin, Norrie knows he will have to up his game against Djokovic, who is gunning for a 21st Grand Slam triumph.
He added: “I'm going to have to improve a lot of things. I don't think I'm going to have the chance to lose focus like I did against David. I think I was a little bit fortunate."
"These pumps from Alessandra Rich are made from smooth suede with various straps for a secure fit. They have piercing pointed toes cut from polished patent leather."
'The Duchess of Cambridge took our cover images at the request of our Guest Editor, The Duchess of Cornwall, and we could not be happier with the results — in fact, the set of images she took was so good that we struggled to choose only three, from which The Duchess of Cornwall made her final selection,’ says Country Life’s Managing and Features Editor, Paula Lester, who has worked closely with a small team from Clarence House for the past six months to pull together the souvenir 244-page issue, which marks The Duchess of Cornwall’s 75th birthday and celebrates her passion for the countryside.
‘The Duchess of Cambridge took her commission very seriously and was incredibly professional about the task at hand,’ says Paula.
‘She phoned me to discuss our requirements for the cover and subsequently composed a range of beautifully shot images.’
